Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 413

Chapter 413 Drew Attention

Lester was fluent in several languages. He was able to speak to Nina fluently, his voice pleasant to the ear. Nina liked listening to him.

“We go,” Nina said, climbing down from Lester’s lap.

She pointed outside. It was time to leave.

Nina wasn’t just going with Lester; she wanted Daniel to come, too. “Un-coo Dan’el, go out play.”

To convince him, Nina pressed her chubby little face close, offering it for a kiss.

Daniel couldn’t resist the chubby-cheeked temptation. He leaned in and gave it a big smooch.

Nina pushed at his face with her little hands.

“Un-coo Dan’el, no eat face,” she protested. “Nina cry.”

She kept pushing, trying to stop him from “eating” her cheek.

After a few more kisses, some of Daniel’s anger toward Lester faded.

He reluctantly agreed to go out with Nina and Lester.

Nelson didn’t join them.

He hadn’t seen Grace for a while and wanted to stay home with her.

The three of them left.

Lester carried Nina. He didn’t talk much, but he played along with whatever she wanted.

Nina was having a blast.

Daniel knew Lester was doing this on purpose.

Fuming, he took out his phone and started bombarding Erik with messages.

He texted, “That jerk Lester. He’s deliberately luring Nina away. He’s just trying to piss me off.”

Daniel kept typing. This time, it was Erik’s turn to agree with him.

However, after a few supportive texts, Erik offered a more objective correction.

My guess? He’s trying to get under Benjamin’s skin.”

Erik’s blunt honesty hit Daniel right in the ego.

Daniel texted back, “How am I not important enough? Am I that much worse than Benjamin?”

Erik sent a single question mark in reply.

Then he added, “What do you think, bro?”

That question shut Daniel up.

His silence finally let him cool down a bit.

With a calmer head, he sent another message, “What are the odds I could take Lester out when he’s not looking?”

Erik replied, “The same odds as Nina going a whole day without getting into trouble.”

Daniel typed, “So you’re saying I have zero chance. You really have no faith in me.”

He refused to believe it.

Daniel glared at Lester, who was still carrying Nina, and swore to himself he’d find a way to get back at him today.

The trio drew attention wherever they went-their looks and their vibe were hard to ignore.

Perched on Lester’s arm, Nina started asking for things before they even reached the play area.

“Buy ice cweam?” she asked.

She’d spotted an ice cream stand in the mall.

She was an expert at finding them.

Lester, who had no experience with kids, was ready to buy it for her.

But Daniel stopped him.

“No. Nina was just sick. She can’t have that,” he said firmly.

Daniel paid close attention to Nina. He remembered all her dietary restrictions when she wasn’t feeling well.

No cold treats were the most important.

“Nina, how about I buy you some cookies instead?” Daniel tried to distract her with a substitute.

But Nina had plenty of cookies. She wanted ice cream.

Lester watched Nina’s tantrum begin and didn’t intervene.

He let Daniel handle it.

It didn’t take long for Daniel’s efforts to end in tears.

Nina had gotten down from Lester’s hold by now.

Her little body was pressed against the glass counter of the ice cream shop, her chubby cheek smooshed against the cool surface.
