Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 417

Chapter 417 Reminded Her Of Sienna

Nina’s invitation didn’t get a yes from Lester.

He reached out and pinched her chubby cheek.

“Next time,” he said casually. “Next time… if your daddy says it’s okay.”

His words made Daniel grind his teeth.

He could see it plainly-this was a provocation.

Lester is taunting Benjamin.

What a jerk.

Unable to say it out loud, he settled for rolling his eyes a Lester again.

Fimshed

“Okay, Nina, time to go. Your mommy misses you so much. Let’s go find her,” Daniel coaxed. “How about we bring some yummy treats back for her, too?”

Daniel finally managed to steer Nina toward leaving.

As much as she loved to play, she also loved Amelia.

After Daniel had her say goodbye to Blue, he picked her up and carried her off.

They bought a few more things at the mall before heading home.

They left, but behind them, Jeff’s gaze lingered on the direction Nina had gone, reluctant to look away.

In the car on the way home, Daniel held Nina and reminded her, “Nina, let’s not tell your daddy about playing with Lester today, okay?”

Daniel and Benjamin often butted heads.

But the bond between them ran deep.

Daniel knew Lester and Benjamin were sworn enemies

If Benjamin found out Nina enjoyed playing with Lester, it would probably upset him.

Nina was too young.

Daniel didn’t want to burden her with complicated adult conflicts.

He didn’t want her to have to overthink her playmates because of the grown-ups.

Daniel couldn’t stop her from playing with someone, but he also didn’t want Benjamin to feel hurt. So, he tried to keep today’s outing a secret.

Daniel did care about Benjamin. And Benjamin, for all his tough love and frequent scolding, had always looked out for Daniel.

For instance, when Daniel’s credit cards got frozen, Benjamin usually had them reinstated before too long.

And while Benjamin could discipline Daniel, if anyone else dared lay a hand on Daniel, Benjamin would make them pay.

The Graham family had a good atmosphere. There was little scheming or rivalry among the siblings.

The two talked and played during the ride, arriving home soon enough.

At home, Benjamin and Amelia had both showered and changed after their nap.

Both of them looked refreshed.

Benjamin, in particular, looked completely recharged and in good spirits.

Seeing her parents, Nina happily rushed over.

“Mommy, Nina back!” she announced.

“Oh, my baby’s home. Did you have fun with Daniel?” Amelia asked, picking her up.

Nina nodded, eyes sparkling. “Yeah!”

“Mommy, Nina play!” She was very satisfied with her outing.

Amelia held her close, kissing her cheek with a smile. “What did you play? Tell me all about it.”

She just wanted to chat, but Daniel, worried Nina might spill the beans, quickly changed the subject.

“Nina and I brought back some snacks. You guys want any?” he asked. “Oh, and what about Xavier? Any news, Benjamin? Did Grandma say if he’s in her territory?

With Daniel’s rapid-fire questions, Amelia’s attention shifted away from Nina’s playtime.

While the adults talked, Nina didn’t stay still in Amelia’s arms for more than a few seconds before wriggling down.

She went to find Catherine.

She toddled over and threw her chubby little body against Catherine. “Grandma!”

After her greeting, she started trying to climb into Catherine’s lap.

Catherine picked her up.

Nina looked at Catherine’s unsmiling face and offered a sweet, beaming grin of her own.

“Grandma, miss Nina?” she asked..

She’d only been gone a short while, but was confident she’d been missed.

Catherine didn’t answer, simply carrying her to the playroom.

The room held new toys, but also some old ones that had belonged to Sienna when she was little.
