Chapter 421 He Didn’t Need Family
Amelia, who had just woken up and gotten ready, Catherine, who was at home, and Edward, who had just returned from walking the dog, had all come to see what the commotion was about after noticing extra people in the house.
None of them expected things to escalate the way they did.
Benjamin’s face was ice-cold.
“Take the kids to the playroom,” he said to Amelia, whose mind had gone completely blank.
Trembling, Amelia picked up Nina and led Blue away.
The moment the children were gone, Benjamin grabbed Jeff by the collar and threw him hard to the floor. Benjamin’s fists rained down on Jeff without mercy.
Edward, having snapped out of his shock, immediately let go of the dog’s leash. “Drew, help him out,” he said.
Edward knew Benjamin didn’t need backup. But he was too furious.
With Catherine present, he couldn’t just jump into the fight himself, so he let the dog go first.
“It’s a misunderstanding, listen to me!” Jeff cried out, trying to explain. “Stop! Stop right now or I’m calling the police!
“No! Stop! You can’t be this violent!
“I will call the cops!”
This shady character, now being beaten, actually resorted to threatening them with calling the police. It didn’t work.
Seeing the police threat fall flat, Jeff gritted his teeth and named someone else.
“Lester is my brother! If you keep this up, he’ll make you pay!
“You know who Lester is!
“I’m warning you, stop!”
Bringing up Lester only made Benjamin hit him harder.
“Lester’s brother?” Benjamin’s eyes were utterly frigid. “He wouldn’t fare any better if he were here today.”

Benjamin might playfully antagonize Nina sometimes, tattling on her or teasing her.
But just like Amelia, he considered Nina his everything.
Every time Nina got sick or hurt, he and Amelia were the ones staying up all night, taking care of her bit by bit. Seeing her in any discomfort tore at them the most.
Now someone had tried to hurt Nina, and Benjamin, as her father, would not tolerate it.
Between Drew’s bites and Benjamin’s blows, Jeff was soon covered in wounds, barely able to breathe.
It was only when Jeff was on the verge of passing out that Catherine stepped forward, her expression blank, and had people carry him away.
“Alright, I’ll handle the rest,” Catherine said, taking over.
While the adults dealt with Jeff, Amelia, fighting back her own panic and fear in the playroom, questioned Nina about where she had been touched.
At first, Nina said her panties had been touched, but Amelia soon realized she was just repeating what Blue had said.
Blue was the one who had actually been touched; that disgusting creep hadn’t managed to lay a hand on Nina.
Amelia’s eyes reddened, tears almost spilling over. She pulled both children into a hug.
“You have to tell a grown-up right away if anything like this ever happens. Tell Mommy or Daddy immediately,” she told them.
Nina nodded obediently, and Blue promised to tell his mom.
Amelia, still worried about Blue, had him call his mother right then and there.
Word of what happened to the two kids reached William and Trevor. William was practically beside himself with rage.
After learning Nina had almost been hurt, Trevor called Lester.
“Lester, what’s the deal with this Jeff guy?” Trevor asked, explaining what happened to Nina.
After listening, Lester was silent for a moment.
“I didn’t know about this,” Lester finally replied.

Trevor frowned. “Jeff deserves to die for this. Are you going to protect him?”
Trevor waited for Lester’s answer. He knew about Lester and Jeff’s relationship. They were brothers in name, but they weren’t close.
In theory, Lester shouldn’t protect him. But if Lester decided to do it just to mess with Benjamin…
Trevor thought he might just cut ties with him over it.
