Chapter 446 Figured Out The Pattern

“Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?” Amelia asked, her voice thick with tears as she checked on Nina over the video call.

Lester’s low voice came from beside Nina. “She’s not hurt. I fed her, and she’s fine now,” he stated. “I can’t leave right now to bring her out to you. Philip’s security team has been alerted. Once I’ve handled things here, I’ll bring Nina out.”

Now that Lester had found Nina and confirmed she was safe, the Graham family felt a massive weight lift from their shoulders. They didn’t make any further demands of Lester and agreed to his plan.

“Sweetie, you stay with Lester and be good. Mommy and Daddy are right outside the gate,” Amelia said gently, seeing that Nina couldn’t leave immediately.

She didn’t pressure Lester to send her out right then, focusing instead on soothing Nina to keep her from being too scared.

The video call lasted a long time, and it worked wonders. By the end of it, Nina’s mood had improved significantly.

Lester found a white tank top, cut a section off the bottom, and slipped it over Nina’s head as a makeshift little dress.

It was still loose and droopy, but at least it was something to wear..

After getting her dressed, he hand-washed the dirty clothes she’d changed out of before her bath and hung them up to dry.

With that done, Lester looked down at the chubby toddler who was once again clinging to his leg.

“Why are you down again? Go sit on the couch or the bed,” he instructed. “There’s a TV.”

Lester turned the TV on for her, but Nina wasn’t interested. While her mood was better and she was back to bouncing around, she was still feeling clingy in the unfamiliar environment, sticking close to Lester.

He picked her up and put her back on the bed.

“Stay put,” he said, pulling out his phone to send a message.

Nina, who had been laid down, giggled and reached out a chubby hand, trying to grab the phone to see.

Lester didn’t give it to her.

“I need it,” he said, gently pushing her back down on the bed. “It’s very late. You need to sleep.”

Nina flopped back but immediately sat up again. She just wouldn’t sleep. /

She snuggled up to Lester, who was messaging security. With one hand, he typed while using his other arm to gently hold her in place.

After a while, he finished communicating with security. They wouldn’t be coming to take Nina, but they still had to report the incident to Philip. Lester let them go ahead with it.
