Miracle Cutie (Amelia and Benjamin) novel Chapter 468

Chapter 468 A Children’s Maze

The children were already having a blast.

Amelia stuck close to Nina, not letting her out of her sight.

Nina was over the moon. The clean outfit she’d changed into before leaving the house was already dirty, but she didn’t care one bit.

She played everywhere, her little voice chattering nonstop.

Amelia followed behind her, exhausted after just a short while. Nina could run forever, and the amusement park was huge.

Amelia was worn out and wanted to call Nina over for a break. But in the blink of an eye, Nina had run off with Harry toward a building.

A sign hung by the door. It was broken in half. The remaining piece read, “Children’s.”

Amelia walked over with a water bottle. “Nina, stop running for a second. Have a drink first,” she said, trying to give Nina some water.

A bodyguard also brought water for Harry.

The two kids saw the water in the adults’ hands, but they were too caught up in their fun. They didn’t want a drink.

Giggling, they ran into the building. The door was open, but it was dim inside.

Amelia watched her run in, feeling helpless. “Nina, slow down! Watch your step!” she called out.

Nina had already run into one of these children’s play buildings earlier.

It hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and she’d tripped over some clutter on the floor and fallen.

Amelia checked her. Thankfully, Nina wasn’t scraped.

Nina’s little mouth had turned down then, but with the other kids still around, she hadn’t cried.

Now, seeing her run off again, Amelia could only keep urging her to slow down and not fall.

Amelia followed her into the building, still calling out warnings. Once inside, she froze.

It was a small maze.

She looked back at the floor. There was the other half of the sign. It clearly said “Maze.”

This building was a children’s maze.

Amelia’s heart sank. “Nina! Nina! Stop running!” she shouted from behind.

Hearing Amelia call her, Nina just giggled and ran even faster.

The maze building looked simple. A bodyguard who had followed them in, seeing Amelia’s panicked expression, tried to reassure her.

“The building is enclosed. Please don’t worry,” he said.

A group of bodyguards entered together. They began checking for dangers while keeping an eye on the two kids. Amelia followed, too.

The two little ones kept dodging the adults, turning the chase into a game. They refused to let the adults catch them.

They ran around, their giggles echoing in the dim maze room. They laughed, then suddenly covered their mouths with their little hands and started playing hide-and-seek.

They hid, making the adults look for them.

Amelia pleaded helplessly, “Can we please go play outside?”

She didn’t know why, but this maze room gave her the creeps.

The front door was broken, and the place looked completely abandoned… Yet she felt an inexplicable sense of danger. A strong one.

“Nina, Harry, come out. I’ll buy you ice cream,” Amelia offered, pulling out the ice cream bribe to lure them outside.

Nina’s eyes lit up at the mention of ice cream. She was tempted. She happily jumped out from beside the cabinet where she was hiding.

Amelia had been following her, so she was close, Seeing Nina jump out, Amelia quickly ran over, crouched down, and hugged her.

“Nina, it’s a little dark in here. Aren’t you scared? And it’s so dusty. We can’t play here,” Amelia said, trying to reason with her. “Mommy will take you outside to play.”

Amelia reached up to wipe the dirt from Nina’s little face. As she was wiping, the floorboard right next to the one she was standing on was suddenly pushed open from below.

A large hand reached out from the side and yanked her down.

Nina watched, eyes wide, as Amelia was pulled in. “Mommy!” she cried out loudly.

Then, she was pulled in too.

Beneath the floorboards was a hidden basement!

Nina and Amelia had vanished on the spot.

It all happened in less than ten seconds.

Harry, who had been hiding not far from Nina, looked up and saw she had suddenly disappeared. He rubbed his eyes, confused.

“Nina?” he called out, bewildered.

His voice brought a nearby bodyguard over. “What’s wrong?” the bodyguard asked.
