I waved my hand, annoyed. “Vagen was already taken back. The army’s power should’ve been returned anyway. It’s just… the way he did it doesn’t sit right with me.
“It also feels like he doesn’t respect Laila.
“Like she’s just a tool to make me give up authority.
“And in his eyes, I’m still some kind of threat. But I never saw it that way. Since the day I was born, my duty has been to protect the kingdom and protect him. If he asked, I’d even give my life!”
“Yeah.” Griffin scoffed in my head. “He hurt you.” ·
“Yeah.”
I clenched my fists, unsure if it was anger or disappointment burning inside me.
And he knew my curse still wasn’t solved.
Just then, my Beta adjutant, Luke Acosta, came in.
“Alpha, Princess Morgana said she’ll stay with our pack in a few days. I’ve arranged for her room to be cleaned,” he reported.
I frowned.
Morgana wasn’t related to Vaughn or me by blood. She was our sworn sister.
When I was a teenager, Vaughn went to train on the battlefield. Morgana’s father and two Alpha brothers died protecting him. Before they passed, they asked Vaughn to care for nine- year-old Morgana.
So Vaughn adopted her and made her a princess of the Rydar Kingdom.
But compared to Vaughn, she depended on me more and preferred living in Frostwind Pack.
To be honest, I didn’t like sharing space with her.

Chapter 114 His Decision
In recent years, I noticed she relied on me too much.
I’d also heard she broke her mate bond on purpose and kicked her mate away.

She even swore she’d only mate with the strongest Alpha in Rydar or stay single forever.
“What does His Majesty say?” I asked.
“I heard His Majesty sent her here,” Luke whispered. “People say she spends wildly, so he pushed her over to you, hoping you’ll manage her.”
“…Understood.”
Because Morgana’s father and brothers died saving Vaughn, he spoiled her badly.
That was how she got so willful.
And I was the only one she halfway listened to.
Once she arrived, things would be chaotic for sure.
I rubbed my forehead, feeling a headache coming on.
“Alpha, should we hire more servants for her?” Luke asked.
“No.” I shook my head. “She doesn’t like strangers.”
The people serving Morgana now were all experienced. New hires wouldn’t be able to deal with her temper.
I didn’t think much more about it.
But during lunch, my other Beta adjutant, Jeremy Yeager, came to see me.
“Alpha, regarding Ms. Conlay, could there be another explanation? Maybe His Majesty isn’t forcing you to give up military power,” he said carefully. “Maybe no matter what you choose,. he’ll accept it.”
My chest tightened. “Are you saying he really wants Laila to be queen?”
