Chapter 70 A True General Hates War
Holt’s POV:
“Not losing?
“They’re dead! How is that not losing?!”
I was about to explode. “And these deaths were completely unnecessary! Even if you want to help me, you could have had them follow my orders instead of sending them straight to die!”
“That’s their choice!” Maris held her head high, looking like she couldn’t be wrong.
I stared at her in disbelief, as if I was meeting her for the first time.
“Maris! No general would be so careless with their soldiers’ lives.
“Every soldier has a family. They’re not stepping stones for anyone to gain glory!
“What you’re doing now is sending them to die to earn credit for yourself!”
Maris argued back, “No! I’m helping you, Holt! You can’t say that about me…”
I couldn’t listen any longer. I cut her off sharply, Screw your help! Maris, I’ll earn my merit myself! I don’t need anyone dying for it!
“Right now, you stay quiet and follow my orders
After speaking, I transformed into a wolf and drove back all the soldiers Maris had brought.
Bill also had the armored war wolves help drive them back.
Luckily, Maris didn’t give any more orders to “cause trouble” again.
Half an hour later, the gate of Simonne Town opened.
I heard it was Laila who opened it.
She’d struck another big victory.
Maris stood beside me and asked coldly, “You’re even more regretful now, aren’t you, Holt? If she were still your mate, you could share this glory with her.”
I didn’t answer.
I was just a little disappointed in her.

But then, Maris suddenly said, “Holt, I’ll make you see that choosing me was the right choice.”
“What are you going to do?” I asked sharply.
My heart tightened, and I quickly looked at her but she had already transformed into her wolf form and blended into the soldiers to fight
There were too many people on the battlefield, and the air was thick with the smell of blood.
Unless you were specifically tracking someone’s scent, there was no way to find them.
What I didn’t know was that someone on this battlefield was intentionally tracking Maris’s scent, and she had already fallen for it, being lured out of the town alone…
Third-person POV:
The back hills of Simonne Town.
Solantian’s Marshal, Silas Kincaid, and Ovilan’s Marshal, Victor Wilde, didn’t go to the battlefield. They stood on high ground, watching the war unfold.
Bodies lay everywhere. Everywhere were fallen soldiers, and blood had nearly stained the whole town red.
Rydar Kingdom’s warriors grew braver with each battle. They all knew this was the final battle. They had to give everything they had. If they won, they could finally reclaim Vagen.
Meanwhile, the Ovilan soldiers were already showing signs of retreat. They had been fighting in Vagen for years, far from their homeland, and they were exhausted.
Victor also knew it was only a matter of time before they had to give up Vagen. The Solantian werewolves were here just to help, mainly to target a female general named Maris.
They didn’t have the determination to defeat the Rydar Kingdom, nor did they want to share Vagen with Ovilan. Most of them had come simply to vent their anger.
Victor was furious. If it weren’t for their idea to join the battle, they might have already retreated long ago. They wouldn’t have had to fight more battles and sacrifice more innocent soldiers.
He said coldly to Silas, “If your goal is just to vent anger, why not wipe out the entire town?”
He roughly knew why Silas had come. He had heard that on the Lovanfall Battlefield, a small town near Deervale City had been massacred.
Anger flared in Silas’s eyes. “War brings nothing but shattered homes and ruined lives to civilians. If I were to slaughter civilians again, even enemy civilians, how would I be any
