Realizing she had been stared at for too long, a faint blush spread across Naomi's cheeks. "What? Is there something wrong with my outfit?"
Chris cleared his throat softly and looked away to regain control of himself before turning back with a faint smile. "No. Perfect. Let's go."
Lydia and Cale walked them out to the front terrace. The moment the car carrying Chris and Naomi pulled out of the mansion grounds and disappeared beyond the main gate, Cale immediately turned around. His footsteps were firm as he crossed the living room toward Vincent and Daniel, who appeared to be in the middle of a serious discussion.
"Daniel," Cale called flatly.
"Yes, Mr. Cale?" Daniel immediately straightened his posture, giving him his full attention.
"Prepare a car. Keep a safe distance and follow them from behind. Make sure they don't notice your presence, especially Chris," Cale ordered without hesitation. Last night's party at the Evermont residence had confirmed one thing: the enemy's next move could come from any direction, and Cale had no intention of taking even the slightest risk.
Daniel bowed obediently without asking many questions. "Understood, sir."
Watching Daniel immediately hurry off to carry out the order, Lydia, who had been standing beside Cale the entire time, could no longer hold back her amused laughter. She shook her head lightly while crossing her arms over her chest, looking at her husband with playful eyes.
"Good grief, Cale," Lydia teased between laughs, her voice bright as it filled the room. "You're seriously overprotective. They're only going to look at universities, and you're actually sending Daniel to spy on your own brother?"
Cale merely glanced at his wife with one eyebrow raised. Instead of arguing, he simply extended an arm around Lydia's waist possessively, guiding her back into the warmth of their home.
