"Alright, now that you know who the boss is, get out!" Chris said.
Harrison glared at Elena furiously, then slammed the documents in his hand onto the ground.
"This lousy company? I didn't want to stay anyway! I'm leaving. What's so great about it!"
Harrison cursed and stormed off.
"Elena, who was that guy?" Chris asked.
"That was Harrison. My former brother."
"So he's one of the Sterlings. Good riddance! Elena, don't worry. You have me to look after you now. You have brothers who actually care. Don't pay attention to that trash!" Chris assured her.
Elena smiled. Being defended by her brother felt truly blissful.
She had never experienced this feeling before, even though she used to have five brothers.
"Thanks, Chris. I hope your company gets better and better."
"Hehe, you deserve some of the credit. If it weren't for your funding, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford this place!"
The siblings smiled at each other.
Since Chris had just acquired the company, he had a lot of matters to attend to.
Elena prepared to head back alone.
However, at the company entrance, she ran into Melissa Sterling.
"Mom, what do you want with her! Let's just go home!" Harrison was trying to persuade her.
Melissa seemed persistent. Seeing Elena, she ignored her son and ran over.
"Elena! Elena!" Melissa called out enthusiastically.
"What do you want?" Elena asked coldly.
Seeing anyone from the Sterling family made her sick.
