She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 771

She slipped her hand past his waistband, suddenly leaning down and pulling the blanket over her head, disappearing beneath it.

Her slender, warm fingers grazed the skin of his waist, bringing a cool, contrasting touch.

Lucian's breath instantly hitched. The guilt and panic that had been eating at him were shattered by this sudden, overwhelming intimacy. He instinctively reached out to touch her, but she pinned his wrists down.

"Don't move," her muffled voice came from under the covers.

Lucian swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing, and obediently went still.

In the quiet room, he heard the faint sound of a zipper sliding down beneath the blanket. A cool touch slipped past the soft fabric, colliding directly with his burning heat.

As the last sliver of afternoon sun faded, the room sank into dusk. Wrapped in the warm darkness, Lucian’s senses amplified tenfold. Gradually, the temperature in the room began to rise...

Meanwhile, on the other side of town.

Hank Lonsdale brought Giselle Turner to his bedroom. The moment they walked in, she defensively pressed her back against the wall near the door. When Hank turned and saw her on high alert, his expression darkened.

"Are you that terrified I'm going to eat you alive?"

"Can I go back now?" Giselle asked softly.

Hank took off his suit jacket, his eyes locked on her. "Come here."

When she didn't move, he dropped a threat. "I still have your little boyfriend."

Only then did Giselle reluctantly walk over to him. The next second, he wrapped an arm around her waist, easily lifting her off her feet, and sat down with her on his lap in the plush armchair.

After checking to make sure she wasn't hurt, Hank reined in his temper, trying his best to be gentle. His large hand slowly stroked her back. "You must be terrified. Mexistar occasionally descends into this kind of chaos."

Giselle kept her head down. After a moment, her tone softened as well. "I really don't have a boyfriend."

A smirk played on Hank's lips. "Even if you did, I'd make sure he learns exactly what happens to men who touch what's mine."

"Am I just a possession to you?" Giselle looked at him quietly, taking in the dark possessiveness in his eyes and his total lack of respect for her autonomy. "You just can't stand the thought of anyone else having your things. Even if you throw something away, no one else is allowed to pick it up, right?"
