Chapter 360 A Surprise Reunion
Chapter 360 A Surprise Reunion
“No, just us three!” Kylie answered directly.
Collin let out a quiet sigh of relief.
Good.
+10 Free Coins.
After lunch, a fine, misty rain began to fall. They waited under the covered patio for a while before making their way back to the inn.
It looked like they wouldn’t be going out again that afternoon.
The rain continued, shifting from a gentle drizzle into a steady downpour.
Isabelle drew back the floor–to–ceiling curtains in her room. The constant patter against the windowpane filled her with a deep. soothing calm.
In the evening, they had a simple dinner at the inn, then gathered in Isabelle’s room to sort through their notes and impressions from the day.
Maybe they’d walked too much. After discussing for just over half an hour, they decided to call it a night.
Kylie, however, was still buzzing with questions, chatting excitedly without pause.
Fortunately, she was a quick learner. With just a little guidance from Isabelle and Diana, things seemed to click into place for her.
By the time they left, it was already past ten.
After washing up, Isabelle tied on a soft robe and settled into the armchair by the large window, gazing leisurely out at the rain. Water streamed steadily along the grooves of the slate roof outside. Plump raindrops drummed against the tiles with a rhythmic pit–pat, a sound that, while persistent, held its own rustic charm.
Diana sent her a text, “Open your door in five minutes. I brought you something sweet.”
“We’re in the middle of nowhere. Where did you get dessert?” Isabelle couldn’t help but frown.
Diana didn’t reply.
Isabelle didn’t dwell on it and turned her attention back to the view.
Five minutes later, there was a soft knock at the door. Isabelle padded over barefoot and peeked through the peephole. She could just make out Diana’s silhouette outside.
She opened the door. A tall, dark figure stepped inside and immediately closed the door behind him.
Before Isabelle could process what was happening, an arm had circled her waist. A familiar, warm presence enveloped her, a pair of soft lips captured hers, and deep, masculine breaths sounded close to her ear.
Isabelle tried to speak, but he sealed her mouth completely, his tongue claiming hers in a slow, deliberate kiss.
The air around her filled with that familiar, intoxicating scent of sandalwood and clean linen she loved. She knew exactly who it
was.

She stopped resisting, wrapped her arms around his neck, and lost herself in the moment.
“Did you miss me?” His voice was rough like gravel, husky and carrying a slight tremor.
“Mhm…” Isabelle managed to whisper, unable to form proper words
Only when her breathing grew uneven did the man finally ease his embrace
“Don’t move…” Damian murmured, his forehead pressed against hers, his eyes searching her desire–clouded gaze Isabelle held still. Her robe had been pulled loose earlier, and she was acutely aware she wore nothing beneath it.
“How are you here?” she finally asked. Hadn’t he said he was too busy?
A secret joy bloomed in Isabelle’s chest. He was here. He filled that quiet, lonely pace completely.
“I wrapped up early. Came straight after,” Damian said, gently stroking her hair. “You seemed a little down earlier?”
“Mhm, a little,” she admitted, pretending to pout.
“And now?” Damian chuckled softly, leaning down to brush another kiss against her lips.
Isabelle blinked, her long lashes fluttering slightly.
How could she not be happy that he’d slipped away just to see her?
“Feeling better?” Damian asked.
Isabelle wordlessly threw herself into his arms, her heart too full to speak.
She never expected he’d recruited Diana to help pull off the surprise. It was utterly unexpected.
“How long can you stay?” Isabelle asked, nuzzling into his chest.
“I have to head back first thing in the morning,” Damian replied, kissing the top of her head.
“So soon?”
He’d carved out time just to see her, and even brought her favorite dessert.
She still couldn’t figure out how he’d managed to enlist Diana in his scheme.
“Want me to stay?” Damian lowered his head, seeking her gaze, as if asking for her permission.
Isabelle’s cheeks warmed. She slowly pulled back from his embrace.
The fact he’d made time to see her at all had moved her deeply. How could she ask him to stay longer?
“The baby says you should go back and earn money,” Isabelle teased gently.
