"She was a victim of domestic abuse throughout their marriage. She almost fell into a severe depression and attempted suicide. If she hadn't been desperate, she never would have asked me to help her divorce him. She avoids Henry at all costs; she would never contact him willingly."
After a pause, Elias gave another order. "Regardless of Henry's motives, find him. Spare no expense."
"Yes, sir."
Hawk turned to leave.
Elias stood outside the room. In the dim moonlight filtering through the window, he could see the woman on the bed. Her brow was furrowed, indicating that even in deep sleep, her rest was not peaceful.
His lips formed a tight line as he called out to Hawk.
"Mr. Shawn…"
"Until you find Henry, have someone keep an eye on Gen. If you notice anything unusual about her, I want to know immediately."
Hawk froze for a second but quickly recovered and went to make the arrangements.
After Hawk left, Elias didn't immediately return to the room. He stood outside and smoked two cigarettes, lost in thought for a long time before finally going back inside.
"Tamara…"
In her dream, Victoria stood on the balcony of the school building, watching Tamara sit on the railing with her back to her.
The wind blew, rustling Tamara's hair.
She turned her head, her eyes red. "Victoria, why? I thought… I thought you were my friend. Why would you do this to me?"
Victoria felt her heart clench. "Tamara, calm down," she said, her voice trembling. "Please, just get down from there."
"Tamara, I want to know what happened too. I'm begging you, please come down. We can investigate this together. I'll clear your name. I'll explain everything to everyone."
