The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 319

The moment the elevator doors opened, Victoria bolted out without a backward glance, sprinting toward the emergency room at the end of the hall.

"Miss Victoria…"

By the time Mr. Flint caught up, Victoria was already standing outside the ER, her body swaying violently.

He rushed forward to support her.

The red light above the door glowed, spelling out 'EMERGENCY IN PROGRESS'. It cast an eerie silence that settled in Victoria's eyes like a heavy stone, making it hard to breathe.

Mr. Flint's words echoed in her ears.

'After Mr. Sanger finished his treatment, he came back to the suite and saw you were asleep. He didn't want to wake you, so he asked me to accompany him to the garden for a walk. When we got downstairs, I saw him sneeze and worried he might catch a cold, so I went back up to get a shawl…'

'I wasn't gone for more than ten minutes. When I came back down, I didn't see him at first. After looking around, I heard him call my name from the pavilion. That's when I saw he was with a woman, talking about something. But as I walked over, Mr. Sanger suddenly missed a step and fell, passing out.'

Victoria's mind went blank. Her entire body trembled uncontrollably, as if she were trapped in the dead of winter, her blood frozen solid.

She stared at the light above the ER door, not daring to look away for even a second.

An eternity seemed to pass.

The light went out, and the door was pushed open from the inside. A doctor emerged.

Victoria forced herself to step forward. She opened her mouth to ask about the patient's condition, but tears fell before any words could come out.

Her throat felt constricted; she couldn't speak.

"Doctor, how is Mr. Sanger?" Mr. Flint, sensing Victoria's distress, quickly asked.

"He's out of immediate danger for now, but he hit his head when he fell, which caused a small hematoma in his brain. We'll need to observe him for a while to see if it dissipates on its own, to prevent it from pressing on any nerves."

As the doctor finished speaking, Garnett was wheeled out of the ER on a gurney. He was unconscious, his head wrapped in bandages and an oxygen mask over his face, as nurses prepared to move him back to his private suite.

"Dad…" Victoria choked out, rushing to the bedside.

Mr. Flint stood to the side, his eyes red with a look of profound sorrow.
