Elias's low voice reached both Victoria and Genevieve at the same time.
The smile on Genevieve's face froze instantly. Her pupils trembled as she stared at him in utter disbelief.
What did he just say?
He said that from now on, he would believe anything Victoria said?
No, she must have misheard.
Yes, that had to be it. Elias had seen Victoria try to kill her with his own eyes. How could he possibly believe Victoria?
But in the next second, Genevieve saw the look in Elias's eyes as he gazed at Victoria. It was completely different from how he used to look at her.
There was no anger, no disgust, no impatience.
Genevieve's face went white. Her hands clenched into fists. She wanted to speak, but it felt as if something was caught in her throat.
Victoria, too, was taken aback. Her gaze flickered for a moment as she met his. Then, just as quickly, she looked away, her eyes landing on the panic on Genevieve’s face. A sarcastic smile touched her lips.
“No matter what I say? In that case, what if I told you that everything Genevieve just said was a lie? That she was the one who choked me, who slapped me without provocation, and who tried to stab me?”
Genevieve was floored. She hadn't expected Victoria to completely twist the story around. “You’re lying!” she retorted immediately. “It was you who slapped me, choked me, and tried to kill me!”
“Do you have proof?” Victoria asked coolly.
