The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 362

Elias’s fingers trembled slightly as he turned the pages, one by one.

With every entry he read, the memories from the past two years—memories he had ignored and allowed to blur—were illuminated as if by a beam of light, growing sharper and clearer.

So many of them were details he had never paid any attention to, yet in this little notebook, Victoria had chronicled them one by one, like treasures.

But as he continued to flip through, the red check marks became scarcer, disappearing completely by the middle of the third page.

Without realizing it, Elias had reached the final page.

Only five items remained on this page:

95. Watch a movie with Elias.

96. Retake our marriage license photo with Elias.

97. Have an unforgettable birthday with Elias.

98. Go skydiving with Elias.

99. Watch the sunrise at the beach with Elias.

100. Have a child that belongs to me and Elias.

Elias’s gaze froze on the last item.

In that moment, he felt as if a colossal boulder had smashed into his heart. A sharp, violent pain shot through him, making it almost impossible to breathe.

The fingertips gripping the notebook turned white from the force of his hold, nearly piercing through the paper.

—‘Someone who loves children that much wouldn’t just go and get an abortion. Something isn’t right.’

Jonah’s words suddenly echoed in his ears.

Elias’s eyes darkened. When Jonah had asked him tonight if he wanted to look into Victoria’s abortion again, he had refused.

Just as Lucian had said, he was afraid.

He was afraid that the results Jonah found would be the same as that initial report—that Victoria would rather harm her own body than keep his child.

But he was also afraid the results would be different. If they were, everything he had done to her would become a set of sharp knives wedged between them. Their blades, stained with the blood of Victoria and their unborn child, would drown him completely.

After a long silence, Elias called Jonah, his voice low and hoarse.

“…Help me find out what really happened with Victoria’s abortion.”

She walked over while Garnett was still trying to figure a way out of the seemingly impossible situation. She swiftly helped Mr. Flint place the ‘cannon’ piece firmly on the board, successfully capturing Garnett’s ‘General’.

“Hey! My piece!” Garnett’s eyes widened.

Victoria turned to Mr. Flint, winked playfully, and said softly, “Mr. Flint, it’s time for my dad’s medicine. Could you please go ask the nurse why she isn’t here yet?”

Mr. Flint caught Victoria’s glance, smiled knowingly, and immediately got up and hurried out of the room, as if afraid Garnett would pull him back.

Garnett watched Mr. Flint scurry away faster than a mouse, his frustration mounting. He then looked down at the disastrous state of his side of the board and couldn’t help but complain to Victoria.

“I was just about to win, and you had to come and ruin it.”

Victoria raised an eyebrow and sat down across from him. Glancing at the board, she calmly explained, “Dad, even if Mr. Flint didn’t move his ‘cannon’ there, your ‘General’ would have been completely surrounded by his pieces within three moves, with nowhere to retreat.”

As she spoke, her slender, fair fingers skillfully picked up several round pieces and placed them around Garnett’s ‘General’. Then she looked up at him and said, “See? It was an unwinnable game.”

Garnett huffed in dissatisfaction like a pouting child and tossed the piece still in his hand into the game box.

“I’m not playing anymore. It’s no fun. Playing with you two is boring. I had a much better time playing with Elias the other day!”

After saying that, he seemed to remember something. His tone shifted as he asked Victoria, “By the way, how come Elias hasn’t been around these past few days?”
