The vast office was utterly silent, save for the soft rustle of clothes falling to the floor.
Elias's face was a blank mask, his eyes fixed on Victoria as if inspecting an object, devoid of any warmth or emotion. Her skin was pale and flushed, the soft pink rising under his gaze, impossibly delicate and breakable.
Elias’s jaw tightened, and he swallowed hard.
Victoria's lips pressed tight. A wave of intense shame threatened to drown her, and she instinctively moved to cover her chest. But a large hand shot out, grabbing her wrist and yanking her forward.
She stumbled into his hard, warm chest. He tilted her chin up, and a familiar, frighteningly cold, woody scent descended upon her lips. Then, his mouth was on hers, prying her lips apart, ruthlessly stealing her breath.
Just when Victoria felt she could no longer breathe, Elias released her mouth, his other hand gripping her waist. He lowered his head and bit down on her collarbone, his cool fingertips tracing a path down from the small of her back.
"Mm..." A gasp escaped her lips as an indescribable shiver shot through her nerves. She arched back slightly, instinctively trying to evade his touch. But Elias gave her no chance to escape. The waves of sensation were so intense that Victoria felt herself melting, her breathing completely erratic.
"No... please don't... Elias..."
Elias's eyes were now clouded with an undeniable lust. His voice was deep and thick. "No? Victoria, you brought this on yourself." His long fingers brushed against her skin....
"Ah..." A cry tore from her throat, but she couldn't stop the trembling that wracked her body.
Her vision blurred as she pleaded, her voice shaking, "Please, at least… at least not here…"
His hand clamped around her jaw, and his lips brushed against her ear. "You don't get to choose."
With a soft click, his belt came undone.
Victoria was powerless to resist. Her eyes were bloodshot as she was forced to endure him...
Elias had incredible stamina. She had learned that the night he was drunk. The desk, the sofa, the floor-to-ceiling window, the lounge... they went on until night fell. Victoria's voice was gone, her body completely drained of strength. She couldn't even remember how or when she fell asleep, only that her phone had rung several times, and each time, Elias had silenced it.
---
The next morning, Victoria was awakened by a knock on the door.
She opened her eyes to a familiar yet strange room—the private lounge in Elias's office. The humiliating events of the previous day flashed through her mind like a film.
"Mrs. Shawn, are you awake?" Hawk's voice came from outside. He knocked again when he heard no response.
