The Best Revenge It Wasn't Even Your Child novel Chapter 340

“There’s no need,” Lance said.

His face suddenly went cold. He glanced at the rearview mirror, eyebrows pulled tight. “Get out. You’re on your own here in Eldervale.”

“You didn’t leave me a single cent. I haven’t eaten for two days. Last night I had to sleep in an ATM lobby.”

If he could have managed on his own, Harrell would never have come to find him.

Lance kept his icy expression. “Starving wouldn’t be the worst thing.”

“Maybe not. I’d be doing the Lane family a favor, getting rid of a ‘troublemaker.’ Just remember I once saved your life. If I die, at least pick me a decent grave.”

Harrell looked completely at ease, like he’d already accepted it.

Lance’s eyes sharpened. “Don’t use that as leverage. If it happened again, I wouldn’t need rescuing.”

No one knew that it hadn’t been just Adelina who saved Lance back then. Harrell had been there too.

It was Harrell’s idea to keep it quiet. He didn’t want the Lane family pretending to care about him just because of his connection to Lance. It was better to let them cut him off completely.

“I think what you really don’t want is for her to save you again,” Harrell said, his tone layered with meaning. “Lance, I never thought you’d make the wrong call. It’s not too late to change your mind.”

Lance’s eyes narrowed. His jaw was tight, every line sharp.

After a long silence, he changed the subject. “I’ll transfer you some money. Now get out.”

“Fine.” Harrell got out of the car.

At this point, it wasn’t just about Lance anymore. It was the James family and the Green family, both tangled up in this mess.

Standing by the driver’s door, Harrell added, “Watch out for the Green family. None of them are any good. You really need to be careful.”

Lance didn’t answer. He just rolled up the window.

The Bugatti sat there for nearly half an hour before finally pulling away.
