The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 779

Ella turned away, ready to leave, but her phone started ringing. Lilly’s name flashed on the screen.

She answered, but barely got a word out before David yanked the phone right out of her hand.

“Mr. Harmon, what are you doing? Give my phone back!”

David put his hands on her shoulders, holding her in place. “Ella, I’m not letting you take Lola and walk away. Did you hear me?”

She glared right back at him. “You don’t get to decide what I do. Lola and I are free, and you can’t stop us.”

There was no way David would let her go. He’d just gotten her and Lola back. He couldn’t lose them again.

He tried to speak, but suddenly a sharp pain ripped through his head. The headache was back, even worse than before. His face went pale. He’d already taken painkillers before coming, but it felt like nothing could stop this pain now.

Ella took the chance to push him away. “I’m leaving, whether you want it or not.”

She slipped the two plane tickets into her bag, grabbed it, and headed for the door.

“Ella, don’t go!”

David rushed after her, wrapping his arms around her from behind.

His head was throbbing, the pain only getting worse the closer he got to her. Still, he couldn’t let go. He buried his face in her hair, breathing her in like he was desperate for her.

Even with the pain, there was this wild happiness under it all.

“Let go of me!”

“I won’t. Ella, don’t take Lola away. I can’t lose you.”

David suddenly pushed her down onto the sofa and leaned over her, cradling her face in both hands as he kissed her.

Ella gasped.

Jessa just froze. She stared, completely stunned. David and Ella… together. Like this. How could this be happening?

She tried to make sense of it. Wasn’t David supposed to be under the effect of Heart Connect? He shouldn’t even be able to get near Ella, let alone kiss her.

Lilly glanced over at her. “See, Jessa? He is totally with Ella.”

Jessa’s heart sank. She took a shaky step forward. “David, what are you doing with Ella?”

Ella’s eyelashes fluttered at the sound of Jessa’s voice. She shoved David away. “David, let go of me!”

This time, David let her go.

Ella sat up, but before she could move, David pulled her right back into his arms.

He looked at Jessa, his gaze steady. “Jessa, isn’t it obvious what I’m doing?”
