Ella sat in the dressing room, letting the makeup artist work her magic. Her skin was so smooth and clear, it seemed like nothing could go wrong, no matter how the makeup was done.
Mrs. Harmon walked in with Lola. The little girl ran straight into Ella’s arms, grinning from ear to ear. “Mommy, you look so pretty today. Actually, you look pretty every day.” Lola’s sweet words came out in a rush, making everyone smile.
Ella hugged her tightly and kissed her cheek. “I miss you so much, Lola.”
Mrs. Harmon stepped forward with a warm smile. “Ella, congratulations.”
Ella smiled back. “Thank you, Mrs. Harmon. I’ve been so busy lately. Thank you for taking care of Lola. It must have been a lot for you.”
Mrs. Harmon waved her off. “Lola is my granddaughter, part of the Harmon family. Of course I want to take care of her. Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my little angel.” She looked at Lola with so much love, it was obvious how much she adored her.
Lola just giggled, happy as could be.
“And Ella, I heard Mr. and Mrs. Wade have made you their stepdaughter. Looks like the Harmon and Wade families were always meant to be connected. I’m really happy for you,” Mrs. Harmon said, her voice full of genuine joy.
Ella’s smile grew a little brighter.
Out in the main hall, Moss and Joanna stood under the sparkling lights. Moss was sharp in a black, custom suit, looking confident and calm. Joanna wore a long, elegant gown, beautiful and graceful. Together, they were a perfect match.
A few business leaders gathered around them, offering their congratulations. “Mr. Wade, Mrs. Wade, congratulations on your new daughter.”
“We’ve all heard about Ms. Irvine. I guess now we’ll be calling her Ms. Wade.”
Joanna smiled. “Ella is our daughter now. You all better treat her well.”
“Of course, we’d be lucky just to be her friends,” someone replied with a laugh.
“When Ms. Irvine has some free time, we’d love to have her join us for tea,” another chimed in.
The whole event was a clear sign of how much the Wade family valued Ella. In this world where everyone chased after status and success, people were eager to get close to her.
Even though the party was for Ella, Jessa’s entrance caught everyone’s attention. She was, after all, the real daughter of the Wade family. Now that Ella was officially joining, the stories about these two heiresses were enough to keep the gossip going all night.
This party really did have two stars.
As soon as Jessa stepped in, every pair of eyes in the room found her.
She was dressed in a fitted gown that showed off her gorgeous figure, her long, curled hair falling over her shoulder. She looked absolutely stunning.
Louise walked beside her in an elegant dress, every bit the picture of grace and gentleness.
Their appearance together instantly made them the center of attention.
One of the executives standing near Moss leaned in and said, “Mr. Wade, Mrs. Wade, your daughter has arrived.”
