The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 813

His subordinate sounded terrified, tripping over his words. “We did everything we could, but there’s no record of this driver at the taxi company. It’s like he doesn’t exist.”

Lucas couldn’t believe it. With all his power, they still couldn’t find this driver.

“Useless!” Lucas snapped, then ended the call.

Lilly’s soft, beautiful face suddenly filled his mind, followed by the memory of her moving on the dance floor earlier that night. That image left him feeling restless. The more he couldn’t have her, the stronger his craving became. Lilly had already set his blood on fire.

Lucas grabbed his phone and dialed another number.

The call connected right away. Mrs. Matthis answered, her voice warm. “Lucas?”

“Mom, can you invite the Lynch family to dinner tomorrow? Our families already have a marriage arrangement. I think it’s time we sit down and talk about my wedding with Lilly.”

“Lucas, I don’t think the Lynches are planning to let Lilly marry you.”

“I don’t care. I’m marrying her. No one else but Lilly.”

As the only son of the Matthis family, Lucas was used to getting his way, and Mrs. Matthis adored him. She quickly gave in. “Alright, Lucas, don’t worry. I’ll get in touch with the Lynches. Our families have been close for years. I’m sure they’ll agree. We’ll all meet tomorrow.”

Lucas finally felt a little better and hung up.

Just then, a gorgeous girl in high heels walked over. It was the bunny girl who had danced for him at the party earlier.

She had a bruise on her face. She and Sarah had gotten into a fight, and neither had come out on top. By the time they finished fighting, Lucas had already left, chasing after Lilly.

Now, seeing Lucas here, the bunny girl’s eyes sparkled. She hurried over. “Lucas…”

He looked up at her. “Who are you?”

Lucas’s face was completely indifferent. He didn’t remember her at all.

Lilly turned to the man in the driver’s seat. “Thank you for tonight. Let me pay you.”

She reached for her purse, then realized she hadn’t brought it.

The man glanced at her. “Don’t tell me you don’t have money to pay. I drove you all around the Capital tonight.”

“I have money, I just don’t have my wallet with me. How about this? Let’s exchange numbers and I’ll transfer you the fare later,” Lilly offered.

He thought for a second, then pulled out his phone. “Here.”

Lilly saved his contact.

“Send me the money when you can. I need to go.”

He was about to drive off, but Victoria suddenly ran up and called out, “Jace!”
