She wasn’t sure what love felt like for other people, but her feelings for Jason were always intense and real. Three years had passed, and nothing about that had changed.
Still, those three years left a space between them. There were so many things she wanted to ask him, but she had no idea how to start.
Lilly stepped back into the living room. “Mom, Dad, Mr. Farill said he’s free tonight.”
Mr. Lynch brightened immediately. “That’s great news. I’ll have my assistant make a reservation.”
Victoria slipped her arm through Lilly’s. “Lilly, let’s pick out dresses for tonight.”
May was also glad. “My two little princesses, go on up. I just had a new set of dresses delivered yesterday.”
May was always stylish and loved nothing more than dressing up her daughters like little princesses.
“Alright, Mom, we’re going upstairs,” Lilly said.
Lilly and Victoria headed up to their room, where they swung open the wardrobe doors to reveal rows of custom-made dresses.
Victoria pulled out a dress and held it up against Lilly. “Lilly, what color do you want tonight? This one is gorgeous, but so is this one. I can’t choose. It’s your fault for looking good in literally everything.”
Lilly grinned and pinched Victoria’s cheek. “ You’re so sweet.”
Victoria giggled. “Lilly, my brother is coming tonight, so you have to look extra beautiful. We need to make sure he can’t take his eyes off you.”
Dressing up… for him?
Lilly’s cheeks turned pink. “But your brother and Jill…”
Victoria rolled her eyes. “Lilly, my brother doesn’t even like Jill. She’s nowhere near as pretty as you. Seriously, in my eyes, you’re the only one who could ever be my sister-in-law.”
Lilly hugged her, then reached for a black slip dress. “How about this one?”
