The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 858

May reached over and gently squeezed Lilly’s hand. “Lilly, it doesn’t matter what happened between you and Mr. Farill. We’ll never forget what he’s done for our family. Why don’t you call him and see if he’s free? Your dad and I want to invite him to dinner to say thanks.”

Mr. Lynch nodded. “That’s right, Lilly. We’d like to take Mr. Farill out for a meal. It’s been years since I last saw him.”

Monaghan used to be one of Mr. Lynch’s protégés, and Mr. Lynch had always thought highly of him. After everything he’d done for the Lynch family, there was no question about having him over for dinner.

Victoria hadn’t gone to school these past three days. She already felt like a true member of the Lynch family after all they’d done for her. Now that trouble had found them, she was determined to stay until everything settled before going back to the research lab.

Victoria grinned. “You don’t need to treat my brother to dinner. This is just what he should do. I just want everyone to be safe and get through this together.”

May smiled back at her. “That won’t do, Victoria. Helping us wasn’t something he had to do, it was his kindness. We still need to show our thanks.”

Mr. Lynch chimed in. “Victoria, we made you our goddaughter because we care about you, not because we wanted your brother to owe us anything. Even now that he’s back, you’re still family to us.”

Victoria nodded hard. “I know.”

Mr. Lynch looked over at Lilly. “Lilly, why are you just standing there? Go ahead and call Mr. Farill.”

He was getting a little impatient.

Lilly grabbed her phone. “Alright, I’ll call him now.”

“Go on.”

She stood up and moved to a quiet spot to dial Jason’s number.

The call barely rang before he picked up. Jason’s deep, smooth voice came through the phone. “Hey, Lilly.”

There was a smile in his tone, and it sounded so gentle in her ear.

Lilly noticed his voice had become even richer and more magnetic over the past three years. It was the kind of voice that made your heart skip.

“Mr. Farill,” she started, “everything at home has been sorted out now. My parents really want to thank you, so I was wondering if you have time for dinner with us?”

She tried to sound calm and clear.
