The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 862

Lilly pressed her hands to his chest, trying to put some space between them. “Don’t… not like this, Mr. Farill.”

Jason leaned in, kissing her cheek, then letting his lips slide into her hair. “Lilly, you look incredible tonight.”

His words made her blush even harder. She and Victoria had spent ages getting ready, fussing over every detail just for this moment. All so she could see him tonight.

“Mr. Farill…”

“Call me by my name.”

She hesitated. “Jason.”

He caught her lips again, stealing her breath away.

Lilly melted against him as he deepened the kiss, his taste flooding her senses. She could taste the wine on his breath, rich and dry, swirling her senses. The car was parked at the curb, the noise of the city outside fading to nothing. All she could hear was the quiet sound of their kisses, and her own heartbeat racing.

It didn’t take long before his hands started to wander, lightly teasing the hem of her dress.

Lilly pressed her skirt down, panicked. “Jason, don’t… please.”

She squirmed in his arms, and her hand brushed against the mask on his face. It slipped off and dropped into her lap.

She stared, caught off guard by the scars that twisted his features.

Jason froze. “Sorry.”

He reached for the mask, ready to hide again, but Lilly caught his hand and held it still. She looked up at him. “Why are you apologizing? What for?”

His eyes were shadowed, impossible to read. “My face is ruined. It’s ugly. Did I scare you? I’m sorry if I did.”

A sharp ache pierced in her chest. She could tell how much it bothered him. He used to be so handsome… everyone knew it.

She didn’t say a word. Sometimes, silence said enough. Jason’s mouth twisted in a bitter smile. “I don’t think this will ever get better. I’ve seen so many doctors… no one can fix it.”
