Jason wasn’t about to stop. He wanted her, right now, so much it was starting to drive him crazy.
But Lilly wasn’t having it. She spotted Victoria and Kent already making their way across the street, heading straight for them. With a quick shove, she pushed Jason off and sat back down, trying to look perfectly innocent.
The car door popped open with a click, and Victoria and Kent climbed inside.
Victoria handed Lilly a bottle of water. “Here, Lilly. Drink some water.”
Lilly took it and managed a smile. “Thanks.”
Victoria peered at her, eyebrows raised. “Why is your face so red?”
Lilly pressed her hand to her cheek, feeling how hot it was. “It’s probably just the heat in here,” she mumbled, hoping no one would ask more.
Kent could tell something was up. He glanced at Jason in the rearview mirror. Jason had already slipped back into his usual cool, unreadable expression. Kent hesitated, then tried to joke, “Boss, did I show up too early?”
Jason rolled down the window. The cold night air rushed in, and he let it cool him off. He didn’t answer right away, just gave Kent a look that said, You figure it out.
Kent got the message, and in his head he groaned. He definitely showed up too soon.
About half an hour later, the car pulled up in front of the Lynch family’s villa. Lilly and Victoria got out. Lilly turned to Jason. “Thank you for the ride, Mr. Farill. I’m home now.”
Victoria waved. “Bye.”
Jason looked at her. “Victoria, do you want to move in with me?”
Victoria shook her head. “No, I want to live with Lilly. We always sleep together.”
Jason’s brows drew together. “You share a bed?”
Victoria nodded. “Yeah, of course.”
Back when Tiffany was still alive, in that warm little house, Lilly and Victoria always shared a bed. Now, so much had changed, and those days were just a sweet memory.
