The Last Time I Cried Your Name novel Chapter 275

“Yeah, he had it coming,” Galen said. “After everything he did, it’s honestly surprising he lasted this long.” Then something popped into his head. “By the way, Night’s reopening in a couple of days, right? It’s been shut down for ages, and the staff are starting to get restless.”

“You handle it,” Franco replied, putting down his teacup.

Jay’s phone started buzzing. He walked away to answer, spoke quietly for a moment, then slipped back to Franco’s side.

“Franco, the Green family just showed up at The Glades.”

Galen studied Franco’s face, looking for any flicker of surprise, but Franco just looked like he expected this. Not a single muscle moved.

Galen couldn’t help but feel anxious for him. “You know everyone says Hans was basically raised by Parrish. Parrish has been off the grid for years, no telling what kind of connections he’s made overseas. If you’re set on protecting Laura, you’re making Parrish an enemy.”

But honestly, even if Laura’s bone marrow wasn’t the issue, Franco would never hand her over. Not after what happened to her legs—she threw herself in harm’s way for him, no hesitation, and she’s been paying for it ever since.

Franco owed her, big time. And some debts are just impossible to pay back.

Still, Galen had no idea what Franco would actually do.

Franco didn’t react at all. He never seemed afraid of anyone, and Galen had literally never seen him lose his cool.

But this wasn’t the Franco he was used to. He worried the guy was wound too tight, like he might do something reckless he wouldn’t be able to take back.

Especially with everything going on with Petty.

“You’re really planning on keeping Petty locked up here?” Galen finally blurted out.

Franco’s eyes turned even darker. “It’s not locking her up. She’ll just stay here for two weeks.”

Galen rubbed his forehead, letting out a resigned sigh. “And that’s… different how, exactly?”

“It’s different,” Franco said, his voice sharp, like he needed Galen to just accept it.

“A caged—” Galen started, but Franco shot him a freezing look, so he quickly switched gears. “Even a rabbit will bite if you push it, and Petty’s more like a little fox. You corner her, she’ll find a way to turn the tables, trust me.”
