"Clive, you worked hard today. Hosting a concert must be exhausting," Tamara murmured softly.
It was a venue with a capacity of ten thousand; planning and performing were no small feats.
Clive enjoyed Tamara's massage and let out a reluctant grunt of acknowledgement, though his brow remained furrowed.
Tamara sighed, feigning distress for his sake. "Clive, your performance today was incredibly successful. The fans are calling you the ceiling of domestic entertainment! I just checked the comments online, and everyone says your stage presence was absolute perfection. Please don't be unhappy anymore."
Clive's expression softened slightly as he looked up at her. "Really?"
"Of course it's true!" Tamara's eyes sparkled, her voice full of adoration. "Especially that improvised dance segment. It was explosive! So many fans said they were moved to tears!"
Clive's mood improved significantly under her stream of flattery. The corners of his mouth twitched upward. "It was alright. Just my standard performance level."
Seeing his attitude soften, Tamara pressed her advantage. "Clive, don't pay attention to Mr. Watson's words. He was just scared witless by the Fulton family. The Sloan family doesn't lack money, so why should we care about anyone else's opinion? Don't let it ruin your mood."
She paused, then lowered her voice to a pitiful whisper, planting seeds of resentment against Leilani. "It's all my fault... If it weren't for me, Leilani wouldn't hold a grudge against you, and the Fulton family wouldn't have pulled their funding..."
Hearing Leilani's name, Clive's face darkened again.
"What does that have to do with you? It's Leilani who doesn't know what's good for her!" He huffed coldly. "Does she think latching onto Judie lets her step on me? Keep dreaming! It's just the Fulton family. I don't believe our family can't match them!"
