The Prison-Made Queen novel Chapter 387

Tamara immediately stood up, plastering a gentle smile on her face. "Milford, you're back."

Milford glanced at her coldly, not breaking his stride as he headed straight for the stairs. Since the last time they had been intimate, his attitude had reverted to the icy indifference he had shown immediately after the wedding fiasco. He ignored her as if she were air.

Tamara’s heart sank, but she quickly chased after him, calling out softly, "Milford, I have something I need to discuss with you..."

Milford paused but didn't look back. "What is it?"

Tamara bit her lip and spoke cautiously. "My brother Clive’s company is facing some difficulties. The Fulton family withdrew their capital, and cash flow is tight... Could you help him?"

Tamara’s eyes instantly reddened, her voice choking up. "Milford, I know you're angry with me, but he is my brother. Clive grew up with you. He’s your brother-in-law..."

"Brother-in-law?" Milford’s eyes filled with sarcasm. "Tamara, have you forgotten what happened on our wedding day?"

Tamara’s face went pale, and her fingers clenched tightly. She forced down her panic, tears trembling on her lashes. "Milford, I know you're still mad at me... but Clive is really at a dead end..."

Milford interrupted her coldly. "The Sloan family's affairs have nothing to do with me."

He turned to continue up the stairs.

Desperate, Tamara grabbed his sleeve. "Milford! Can't you just do this for my sake..."

Milford shook her hand off violently, looking at her with disgust. "Your sake?" He looked down at her from the steps, his voice glacial. "Tamara, don't overestimate your importance."

Tamara stumbled back, nearly falling, and the tears finally spilled over. "Milford..."
