After dinner, the discomfort in Felicia's lower abdomen intensified. Although she desperately tried to act as if everything was fine, her pale complexion betrayed her.
Luke drove her car to take her home. He asked worriedly, "Felicia, do you want to go to the hospital?"
Felicia, pale-faced, replied, "No need. I just need to go home and lie down."
There was nothing Luke could do about this sort of thing, so he simply sped up.
Arriving at the Ross residence, Luke helped Felicia out of the car and into the living room.
Seeing the two of them, Ava immediately understood what was going on. She hurried over to support her. "Is it early this month?"
Felicia replied, "Just about."
Ava looked at Luke, greeting him with the warmth of a caring elder. "I haven't seen you in a while, Luke. You've lost weight."
Luke smiled. "I was just craving a feast cooked by you, Aunt Ava."
"Alright, alright. I will make sure you eat well. What do you want for breakfast tomorrow? I'll make it for you."
"I'll eat anything you make. But let's not talk about that right now. You should help Felicia upstairs to rest."
"Okay."
Ava helped Felicia upstairs.
Felicia changed into her pajamas.
Ava prepared a heating pad for her, and made a cup of rose tea.
Lying in bed and holding the mug, Felicia felt the agonizing cramps begin to ease.
Ava sat with her and chatted for a bit. "When I was cleaning your room the day before yesterday, I saw that emerald and diamond ring. Did Max give that to you?"
