Chapter 616 She’s Alive
Judy’s POV
I didn’t know much about Noah Blackwell, but like his father, he was a businessman, and I knew he ran a massive chunk of the Blackwell empire on his own.Gavin confessed to me that they had been friends as children but had grown apart as they aged. Then, after Gavin’s father stole the gem and the Blackwells went into deep hiding, Gavin and Noah’s connection was severed completely.
“After I stole the gem and brought it back to the Blackwell family, Noah ignored me completely. He told me he wasn’t ready for me to move in just yet and asked me to give him a bit of time. That I needed to stay away for right now so nobody sees me…”
“He shunned you out of his life?” I asked, my mouth hanging open.
“Lila found me crying and begging outside his door,” she continued. It was clear that Daisy was now lost in the past with the dazed look in her eyes. “So, she found out pretty quickly that I was mated to Noah… that’s also when I found out that he was actually living with another woman, and that’s why I’ve been feeling the pain from his intimacy the last few days. He’s been sleeping with her, and then he told me that he planned to mate with her.”
“I’m so sorry,” I whispered, wiping away a stray tear that fell onto my cheek.
“But anyways, Lila caught me crying outside of the manor, and she knew I was a scorned woman and was crying over her brother. She saw my mating mark, and she knew it belonged to Noah because it wasn’t the first time he had done something stupid like this. At the same time, I caught her holding the Moon Gem and a variety of other items that looked very much like she was about to cast a spell or something. To change the subject, she told me about Noah’s girlfriend. I ran off shortly after, and then later on, I went to confront Noah… I asked him to meet in our spot, and he did. I asked him about his supposed girlfriend, and he admitted it without batting an eye… like it was no big deal.”
“He told me that he was never going to break this bond, no matter what, so I’d better get used to his girlfriend being around. He was still going to use me whenever he feels like it… just like he does the others he had mated in the past. He’s just adding to the collection with this new one, but I’m still his favorite…”
“I hate that I’m crying right now,” she said, letting out another one of her famous humorless laughs. “I told myself I wasn’t going to break down, and here I am… crying my eyes out because I’ve been used and abused by my mate.”
“It’s not pathetic,” I said quickly, stepping towards the gate that separated us. “You are allowed to feel whatever it is that you are feeling, Daisy. This monster took something from you that you can never get back. He’s awful, and I’m so sorry that it happened to you.”
She sniffled and gave me a small smile as she lifted one shoulder.
“Well, anyway, I went to a seer to figure out how to break this bond. I wanted out. More than ever…I want out. She told me that the host of magic is the only one strong enough to break any mate bond. I’ve heard someone refer to Lila as the host of magic in the past and knew that she had just gotten her powers back. Noah had filled me in on everything when he asked me to spy on the Landry’s and figure out where they are keeping the gem. So, I went to Lila and asked if she could help me. That’s when she told me of her troubles, and we agreed to help one another out. The rest was history, and now I’m here.. begging for your help.”

Chapter 610 She’s Alive
I stared at her for a moment longer, honestly assessing her face. She looked almost desperate, and it didn’t give me the joy that I thought it would. Instead, it made me feel sick.
Without thinking, I reached for the gate latch that separated us and lifted it, letting the door swing open.
“What part of stay inside the fence’ did you not understand?” Erik asked.
I stood in front of Daisy, entirely invading her space, and she looked startled by my sudden closeness.
“What he’s doing to you is criminal. Nobody deserves that,” I told her. “I’ll help you.”
She blinked, surprised.
“You will?” She asked, her eyes growing wide though they were still filled with tears.
“Of course, I’ll help you, Daisy. You are going through a lot of pain, and I’m so sorry my brother is putting you through that. I might not know him, but he’s not somebody I ever wish to get to know. I’m not even sure if I want to get to know this family at this point…”
The realization was startling, and a tear escaped my eye.
“The only problem is I have no idea how to control my magic,” I told her, staring down at my hands as if they held the answers. “Let alone break bonds.”
“That’s okay… we can figure it out,” Daisy said, hope blooming in her eyes, eliminating all doubts that she was lying.
“Yes, we will figure it out,” I repeated. Then a thought crossed my mind. “Where’s Lila?”
Daisy frowned.
“Probably sulking,” she replied. “Finding out she wasn’t actually from the Blackwell bloodline was devastating for her. It was pretty much her only identity, and now she has no idea who she is. She has no family…”
“Well, that’s not entirely true. She’s a Churchill.”
Daisy’s brows raised.
“Wait, what?”
I shrugged. “Yeah, her mom’s name was Megan Churchill.”
Daisy gasped.
“Meg is her mother??”
“She was her mother, yes,” I replied. “But she hadn’t been seen in years. It’s rumored that she’s dead.”
“Meg isn’t dead,” She shocked me by saying. “I know this because a few years ago, I had relations with Levi Churchill. It was part of a job that Noah had me do, but I was with Levi for months. One day, he got a phone call, and I could tell that it was a doctor. Levi needed to head to a hospital across town, and I went with him because he was my ride. When we got there, he went into a hospital room, and I saw the woman lying in the bed… it was clear she was in a coma. He later confessed that it was his sister Meg and that she got into an

accident when she was 19, leaving her in a coma.”
“Meg is still alive?” I asked, my breath caught in my throat.
Meg was an essential part of my adoptive parents’ lives, and she was Lila’s mother. Even Lila deserved to know her mother, and my parents deserved to have the closure they needed. From how they spoke about Meg when they told me the story of how they met her, I could tell there was admiration and affection.
It would be impossible for them not to wonder about her.
Daisy nodded, and before she could say another word, Erik’s voice cut through, interrupting our conversation.
“Judy, I think you should come back through the gate. Gavin is going to be furious…” he said, a slight tremor in his voice.
I rolled my eyes.
“So what if he’s mad… I’ll deal with it when it’s time to deal with it,” I said, waving off his concern. I can handle my husband… no problem.
“Mad isn’t the correct term to use for how infuriated I am right now,” his dark and deep voice said, washing over me like a tidal wave.
My entire body froze, and though my wolf was jumping for joy and happy that her mate was nearby, my heart managed to beat way faster than it should have been beating.
I slowly turned to face a very furious and red-faced Gavin, who stood near a pale-faced Erik.
“Care to explain to me why my pregnant mate is speaking to someone who has done our family harm?” Gavin asked him, his eyes narrowing. “It doesn’t look like you’re keeping my mate safe, Erik.”
“Daisy isn’t going to hurt me, Gavin,” I assured him. “And it’s not Eriks’ fault. He tried to stop me, but you know how I can be… I’m stubborn. So, he compromised and came along with me. He didn’t know I was going to step out of the gate, but it’s clear that we all misjudged Daisy… she’s a victim.”
