Chapter 632 Invitation
Judy’s POV
“What happened?” Gavin asked as I stormed into my room, shutting the door behind me. My entire body sagged against the door, and I suddenly felt lightheaded… a wave of nausea washing
over me.
“They knew…” I murmured. “They knew that I was switched at birth the entire time.”
Gavin wrapped me in his arms, holding me close to his chest as he pressed a kiss to the top of my head.
“I’m sure there’s a good explanation,” he murmured, holding me tighter because he knew I was probably going to pull out of his embrace.
“Gavin, they knew I was switched, and then they found out about the magic,” I told him, looking up at him as he looked back at me. “What explanation could there be for not telling me?”
“Your parents are good people and great Deltas,” Gavin reminded me. “They aren’t malicious, and they love you. They want what’s best for you, and if keeping something from you is what they think is best…. I’m sure there’s a reason behind it.”
I wanted to believe him, but I couldn’t fathom not telling the truth from the beginning. I get wanting to protect me from magic, but didn’t they think I had a right to know that I was some magical being?
“Taylor just called me to tell me that Lila is hosting some kind of party tomorrow.”
I looked up at him, my brows furrowed.
“A party?” I asked.
“She’s just trying to get the pack on her side. She thinks if she throws parties and spends money on them, they’ll like her more and vote her to be the Luna,” he tells me.
My heart sinks.
“And that can work? Can she really be voted to be a Luna?”
“No, of course not… It’s not their choice, it’s mine. No matter what, it’ll always be my choice…. However, they can make things very difficult for us,” Gavin warned me. “Which is why we need to knock her off her high horse and get control of the pack back.”
“Do you suggest we go to the party?” I asked, raising my brows.

“I suggest we take as many gammas with us and break up the party,” Gavin retorted. “I’m also going to get a hold of Zachary Blackwell in the morning and speak to him about Lila. He might not be her biological father, but he still raised her, and he’s the only father that she knows.”
A thought popped into my head at that moment; not only was I taken from my birth family when I was switched at birth, but Lila was taken from her family as well. She was taken away from Meg, her birth mother… she was taken away from the Churchills.
“Do you think she would still be like this if we weren’t switched at birth?” I asked. “If my parents were the ones to raise her? And what about me? How would I end up? Would I be like Lila?”
Gavin looked down at me, his expression thoughtful.
“I think you would have still been you,” he told me. “I can’t imagine you being anyone else.”
I leaned against him as he wrapped me back in his arms, and I felt safe and comforted in his embrace.
“Why can’t things just be simple?” I breathed. “I just want to marry my mate and live a simple life.”
He brushed a strand of hair out of my face.
“Maybe that’s what your parents were trying to make happen,” he told me, giving me a knowing look.
I knew he was right; my parents would never keep something like this from me if they didn’t think it was for the best. Gavin pulled me towards the bed, his lips finding mine, and I melted into the kiss.
“I love you,” he said softly. “And soon, you are going to be Judy Landry… my wife and Luna. The mother of my child.”
He put his hand on my belly, and we both smiled when we felt our baby kicking. He was getting bigger and faster; I was already waddling around, only 5 months pregnant. In theory, at least, Eliza said that because our baby is powerful and filled with his own magic, he’s growing at a faster rate than a normal baby. I’m going to be giving birth that much sooner..
The thought terrified me; I barely had time to comprehend any of it. I was also going to be a fat bride, which really unsettled me, But I forced a smile and leaned further into my mate, knowing that I had him in my corner and I couldn’t be happier about that.
“When this is all over, can we just focus on our wedding?” I asked him, wrapping my arms firmly around his waist as we lay in bed together.
“I wouldn’t want anything else,” he said, pressing his lips to my temple.

I smiled and snuggled into them.
“Have you talked to Irene tonight?” I asked him. “How’s she feeling?”
“Tired,” he told me. “But she’ll be fine. Once we figure out how to break the curse that’s on her, she will be even better.”
I nodded.
“Erik is getting restless,” I told him. “He’s been texting me since we got back to the Silver Crescent pack, and I’m not really sure what to tell him.”
Gavin yawned.
“Let’s figure it out in the morning, and then we will decide the next steps,” he tells me.
I nodded in agreement, feeling my body relaxing against his and sleep taking over. It didn’t take long before I was falling asleep in his arms.
We woke the next morning to the sound of light chattering in the kitchen and the smell of bacon and eggs. My mouth watered at the scent, and my stomach growled. I loved it when my mother made breakfast growing up, and it brought me back to my childhood.
I had a really good childhood, and I had my adoptive parents to thank for that. I knew they were protecting me and I couldn’t be upset with them for that. However, I also knew that it wasn’t right for them to take me away from my birth family just because they were trying to protect Meg’s baby.
“I should talk to my parents today,” I told Gavin as we finished getting dressed. “I don’t want to leave things off on a bad note, and I think I should hear them out.”
Gavin nodded.
“I think that’s a good idea,” he told me, a small smile ghosting his perfect face.
I nodded, letting out a breath as I followed him out of the room. He took hold of my hand, entwining our fingers, and I felt complete. We made our way down the stairs and into the kitchen, where the chattering grew louder.
Everybody was already awake; Irene was seated at the table with my father, and Matt was helping my mother cook pancakes.
“It smells good in here,” I say as we enter.
My mother and father stopped what they were doing to look at me, and I felt the tension simmering in the air. I offered them both a small smile, hoping to make some kind of peace. I

was still upset with them, but I was willing to work through it.
“Good morning,” my mother said, warily. “Did you sleep well?”
I sucked my bottom lip into my mouth.
“Yes. Thank you again for letting us stay here,” I told her.
“This will always be your home, sweetie. No need to thank me.”
Her words warmed me and I felt a bit guilty about our argument last night.
“Do you need any help?” I asked, changing the subject to a lighter note.

My mother cleared her throat and then turned back to her pan, looking around at all the stuff in front of her.
“I think Matt and I can handle it,” she said, peeking down at Matt, who stood proudly beside her. “Isn’t that right?”
Matt nodded, looking boyish, and made my heart swell.
“Yeah, we got it,” Matt said, agreeing with her and making her laugh lightly.
