The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride (Evelyn and Alexander) novel Chapter 644

Chapter 644 Calling The Magic

Judy’s POV

“You’re telling me that I’m cursed?” She whispered, her voice cracking slightly at the end.

I shook my head and stepped closer to her.

“You are not cursed, Irene. You are being cursed. Chuck, but a curse on you, and I am so sorry that it’s happening. You don’t deserve any of this and I promise you, we are going to make it right.”

She sniffled and wiped her eyes, looking much younger than her 22 years. She turned to look at Cora, and then at Esme. They were both staring at her with sympathetic gazes, neither of them saying anything more.

“It doesn’t feel like a curse,” she admitted. “My wolf senses him as our mate.”

“If you really look further into yourself, you’ll realize that maybe what she’s feeling isn’t a made bond at all. Haven’t you ever felt uncertain about things?” Cora asked in a tone softer than I had ever heard her. “Haven’t you ever felt like maybe things weren’t as they seemed, and he wasn’t being completely truthful? You two nearly broke up once… does that seem normal for a true mate bond?”

“All couples fight,” she said, shaking her head, confusion clear on her face. “Even Judy and my father fight, and they are sickly adorable, I have to admit.”

I smiled at that because she wasn’t wrong.

“I’m sorry that this hurts you, sweetheart,” Esmee said, her eyes turning sad. “I know I don’t know you well, but you seem like a sweet girl, and you don’t deserve to be treated like this. You deserve true love. If you are anything like Judy describes, you deserve so much more than this jerk. Don’t let a siren break your heart like this.”

“I don’t get it,” Irene said, shaking her head. “How do we break the curse? Why do we need to be here again?”

“Because this was where the curse was placed. The essence of the curse needs to be reunited with the curse itself… which is inside of you. And it needs to be soaked back in from the one who cast the curse… which is Chuck.”

“Irene, baby. Don’t listen to them… I love you….” Chuck tried to say, ignoring Taylor’s warning look.

I stepped even closer to Irene, so I was only inches from her.

“Irene,” I said, lowering my voice so only she could hear me. She turned to look at me. “I know you’ve had shit luck with guys in the past. First Ethan and now Chuck… but don’t you think you deserve to know what true love feels like? To be with someone who’s all about you and never wants to see that sad look on your face?”

She blinked a few times, her eyes assessing me.

“What if I never find that person? What if Chuck truly is the only one for me?” She asked, sucking her bottom lip into her mouth. “What if I never find someone to love me the way I want to be loved?”

I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into a hug.

Chapter 644 Calling The Magic

“You will,” I assured her. “You are gorgeous, and not to mention you’re a Landry. Any guy would be so lucky to be with you, I’m not just your father’s mate and future wife, Irene. I’m your friend, and I would never he to you. I’m so sorry it took all of this to open your eyes and see the truth, but I’m not sorry for helping you in the only way we could. Please, let us continue to help you by breaking this curse.”

“Irene, don’t listen to her!” Chuck pleaded. “You know you love me… I’m the only one you can trust.”

“Shut up.” Taylor growled, getting into Chuck’s face. “We’ve heard enough from you.”

“Chuck…” she said slowly. “I had loved you so much, and when I found out you were cheating on me… it broke me. A true mate… someone who loves you entirely, would never do such a thing. You hurt me in a way that I couldn’t even comprehend, and then somehow convinced me that it wasn’t how it seemed. I trusted you and believed you above anyone else in my life… but I think it’s time I started listening to them, because they would never steer me wrong, Judy is my friend, as are the rest of these people, and I need to believe them.”

Chuck narrowed his eyes at her; the pleading look on his face long gone and replaced with resentment and fury.

“You’re so fucking stupid,” he said through his teeth. “You really think anyone else will ever love you the way I did? You’re dead wrong. Don’t come crying to me when you realize how fucking wrong you are.”

“Watch your fucking mouth,” he hissed.

“So, what do we need to do?” I finally asked. “We’re all here.”

Cora nodded and motioned for me to step closer.

“Chuck needs to call the curse back,” Cora explained. “It’s not going to be easy to force him to do that, though. Clearly, he won’t willingly go along with that, which is why you are here, Judy. You are the host of magic, and Chuck’s curse is also magic. You need to call his magic and force it out of Irene and back into Chuck. And Chuck needs to accept it back.”

I blinked.

“I need to call his magic?” I asked, my brows furrowed.

“Yes… and because magic is stubborn with a mind of its own, it won’t be easy. That’s why I would have liked to train you a bit more before we even attempted this. But I suppose we can try now if you are up for it. It’ll take a lot of your energy, and it won’t be easy. But I’m willing to help you to the best of my ability.”

I thought my magic and how it listens to me without a second thought; the Goddess had told me that it trusts me and that I need to put my trust in it as well. I knew I would be able to do this way easier than Cora was making it seem, so I nodded and took a deep breath.

I felt both my wolf and magic stirring inside of me; all of us ready for whatever was about to happen.

“Trust us…” my magic spoke inside of me, and I closed my eyes, knowing that I could.

When I opened them, everyone stared at me.

“I know what to do,” I told them, and then I walked over to Chuck, my movements careful and my eyes remaining on his.

Chapter 644 Calling The Magic

Taylor tensed when I got too close, and I knew he was about to warn me to stay away from Chuck because he’s dangerous, but I looked at him and gave him an encouraging nod.

“Trust me.” I told him softly. “I can handle this.”

He looked reluctant, but he nodded.

I stepped even closer to Chuck, my eyes stuck on his, and then I sucked in a sharp breath.

“I call to the Siren’s curse, make yourself known to me.”

Park

My voice came out way louder and more powerful than I had ever heard it, and to my utter shock, Chuck’s eyes started to glow green, and I knew it was his magic responding to me. Then a green-like smoke started to shine throughout the room, and I heard Nan suck in a sharp breath.

“Holy shit,” Nan breathed. “Irene’s glowing green, too.”

I didn’t take my eyes off Chuck, and he didn’t take his eyes off me; it was like he was completely stagnant, unable to move.

“Judy?” I heard Cora whisper. “How are you doing this so easily?”

Even though there were elements of the room that were glowing, including Irene, I knew it wasn’t all of the magic. There was a small, stubborn part of the curse that remained hidden; it wasn’t sure how I knew… but something was telling me deep in my gut that I was right.

“I need all of Chuck’s curse to be revealed to me,” I said, louder this time.

I could feel my body tingling, and then from the corner of my eyes, I felt myself glowing. It wasn’t green like Chuck and Irene, though; I was glowing as soft white. I could feel my magic pouring out of me in waves, and it was getting even stronger.

Chuck curled his lip up, and though he remained stagnant, I could tell he was fuming at me internally. He was trying to keep his magic away, and parts of the curse were still fighting me.
