Judy’s POV
2 weeks later.

“You’re finally here,” Nan said, wrapping me in her arms. “About time. We were about to leave without you.”
I knew she was teasing, and it made me roll my eyes and smile at her.
“You can’t leave without me,” I teased. “That’s not how this works.”
She grinned and nudged me.
“We can do whatever we want,” she continued teasing. “Just because it’s your bachelorette party, doesn’t mean we won’t leave without you.”
“You are ridiculous,” I laughed. “Well, I will say, it’s really good to get out. I hadn’t been outside of the Villa in like 2 weeks. It’s all diapers and baby spit up for me.”
“Well, let Gavin take care of the baby for right now,” she said with a grin. “We have some serious partying to do.”
I couldn’t help but laugh at my best friend.
“Are we finally ready to leave?” Irene asked as she approached us. “I’m ready to get my drink on.”
She did a little dance, making me laugh.
“Yes, I’m ready to leave,” I told her, wrapping an arm around her. “Are the others going to meet us there?”
“Yes,” Nan assured me. “No need to worry. Your bestie and maid of honor took care of everything.”
I knew I could trust her with this, so I wasn’t worried at all. We left the packhouse, where I had met them this evening, and started towards the waiting car. Irene picked up her pace and started towards the car way quicker than the rest of us, and I couldn’t help but smile because I knew exactly why.
As if on cue, the front door opened and Erik stepped out. He grinned at Irene, his arms open wide as she flew into his open embrace. Nan and I couldn’t help but smile at them. These last couple of weeks, they’ve hardly been apart from one another. Ever since the curse on Irene had been broken, and she finally recognized him as her true mate, she’s been all over him, and he was loving every second of it.
I was so happy for them and relieved that things were finally getting back to normal. Erik kissed her forehead and whispered something to her that Nan and I couldn’t hear, but I could only imagine.
She chuckled and pulled back, her cheeks reddening.
Erik looked over at me and winked.
“Ready to hit the city?” He asked.
“I’ve been ready,” I told him. “I can’t wait.”

He laughed and opened the back door for us to enter. Once we were piled into the car, Erik got into the driver’s seat and drove us into the city. It took about 30 minutes, and we shared a lot of laughs; by the time we reached the bar we were going to, my sides were aching from laughing so hard.
“I need to have a sex on the beach, pronto,” Irene said as she got out of the car.
Erik grinned down at her as he tucked her into his side.
“I can arrange that,” he said with a wink, making Nan and me laugh.
I finally convinced Erik to find parking somewhere so he could join us at the bar and hang out. He was practically one of the girls anyway, and I’d love to spend more time with him and Irene as a couple. They’ve been locked away either at Erik’s home or Irene’s room for the last two weeks now.
The bar was a chaotic scene with a ton of dancing and a lot of drunk people. People were dancing on stage, half-naked, though it wasn’t technically a strip club; they were just that drunk.
“Judy!” I heard my name being shouted from the bar, and I smiled when I saw my mother rushing towards
She wrapped me in her arms and kissed my cheek lovingly.
“How are you feeling?” She asked, looking at me with concern as she checked me over.
“I’m fine, Mom. Just tired,” I admitted. “It’s been a long couple of weeks
She nodded.
“I’m sure,” she told me. “You’ll need to bring my grandbaby over soon. I have some new toys for him.”
“He’s too young, Mom,” I laughed. “Maybe in a couple more weeks I’ll bring him over.”
“He might be young, but he has yours and Gavin’s blood,” she reminded me. “He’s a powerful baby.”
I smiled as I thought of Ryder; he truly was a strong one, and my heart was so full of love for my son.
“Selene and Cora are already at the bar,” my mother told me. “They’re excited to see you. You’ve been distant from them these last couple of weeks, and they’ve been worried.”
Guilt gnawed at my chest; she was right. I have been distant from my birth family. I guess I just wasn’t sure how to deal with that whole thing. I wanted to get to know them, but I was also happy with how my life was going right now. I didn’t mean any disrespect, but it was just too much to handle right now.
My mother guided me over to the bar where Selene and Cora were. Selene was the first to see me, and she gave me a polite smile as I reached the bar.
“It’s good to see you,” Selene said as she gave me a brief hug. “How are you?”
“I’m good,” I told her, trying not to sound too awkward. “And you?”
She nodded, though she too looked uneasy.
“I’m good,” she replied. “I was hoping we could maybe talk later?”

I nodded, though I didn’t really want to do this during my bachelorette party.
“Yeah, sounds great,” I said, and then Nan pulled me out of the conversation when she gave me a shot of something.
“What is it?” I asked as I took the small glass.
“A shot,” she shouted over the music, and then she raised it for me to clink her class with mine.
I shrugged and did exactly what she wanted, and clinked her glass.
I downed the shot immediately after and nearly gagged at the taste of straight-up tequila, making almost everybody laugh and cheer at the same time.
“Do you remember how we first met?” Irene asked, sitting beside me at the bar, a drink in hand.
I smiled and thought back to the first moment I met Irene; it was back during her engagement party. I remembered being so broken at that moment because my fated mate was engaged to marry another woman… a woman who ended up being one of my very best friends.
I couldn’t help but smile at the memory now as I leaned my head against her shoulder.
“Yes,” I told her. “I remember.”
“Can you believe where we ended up now?” She asked, a laugh slipping out. “We’ve really changed as people, didn’t we?”
I nodded.
“Yeah, we really did. I’m thrilled that we did. I wouldn’t change who we are for anything.”
“I never thanked you,” she went on to say. “For everything… You really helped me, and I’m not sure how I can ever repay you.”
“You don’t need to repay me, Irene. Tomorrow, we are going to be officially family, and I love you.”
Tears filled her eyes, and she smiled even brighter.
“I love you too,” she said, nudging my shoulder.
Just then, Erik walked up behind Irene and wrapped his arms around her, kissing the nape of her neck.
She giggled.
