Chapter 648 Groom

Gavin’s POV

Finished

“I want to thank you for sending Chuck back to my territory,” Jermey said, sitting in front of my desk, leaning back in his seat. “We are dealing with him properly. He’s been stripped of his title and fired from the force. I promise, I’m not taking this kind of thing lightly.”

I nodded, already knowing that Jermey would deal with him. I was going to deal with him myself, but Irene asked me not to. Despite all Chuck had done to her, she still had a kind heart, and I didn’t want to disappoint her.

“As long as he’s being punished for what he did, I guess it doesn’t matter who does it,” I muttered, tapping my fingers on my desk. My nerves were a bit jumbled, but in the best possible way. I was getting married this evening to the love of my life and fated mate.

I never thought I would get married again, not in all of my years. But here I was…. preparing to marry Judy, and I couldn’t be happier with how things were going.

“How’s Levi?” Jeremy asked. “Still in prison?”

I nodded.

“Yeah, he’s not leaving there any time soon. Apparently, he’s causing some issues with some of my guards,” I told him, shaking my head. “He’ll get what’s coming to him one day.”

“Have Mica and his nephew arrived yet?”

I nodded.

“Yeah, they are both at the pack house, settling into their rooms before the ceremony tonight. They got here this morning. I had breakfast with them. You’re the last one to arrive.”

“Better late than never,” Jeremy teased as he pushed off the seat and stood to his feet. “Isn’t it almost time? Shouldn’t you be getting ready to get to your bride?”

“Yes, he should,” Taylor said as he entered my office, his arms folded across his chest. “Why are you in your office when you should be getting ready for your wedding? Its bad enough you refused to let us throw you a bachelor party.”

He wasn’t wrong. I wasn’t interested in being a bachelor for the night. I was more excited to marry my love.

Ignoring that jab, I rolled my eyes.

“I just have a few more things to finish up here,” I told them. “I shouldn’t be too much longer.”

“Didn’t we agree no work on your wedding day?” Taylor asked, raising his brows. “What would Judy think?”

“Judy is still recovering after getting shit faced last night,” I reminded him, thinking back to that phone call with Richard Montague last night and how worried he sounded about Judy’s well-being. I was worried too.

I rushed to their house in the middle of the night so I could hold Judy while she slept. I barely slept myself, but I was able to watch her peaceful form the entire night.

I was gone before she could wake this morning, but I knew she was going to be hungover. I was still upset with Nan and my daughter for allowing something like that to happen.

But Nan told me how Olivia apologized, and so did a majority of the pack; they even gave Judy their blessing to be their Luna, and bowed to her, so I couldn’t be too upset about how things turned out.

“Seriously, Gavin. Judy will kill us all if you’re late for your own wedding,” Taylor said, shaking his head. “Let’s get a move on things.”

I raised my brows at him.

“Did you just tell your Alpha what to do?” I asked, a teasing glint in my tone.

“No, I told my best friend what to do,” he said, nudging my shoulder. “Let’s get going before we are actually late.”

I knew he was right. This paperwork would have to wait until another day. I needed to get to my own wedding. I stood without another thought and turned off my computer before I left around my desk.

“You’re right. Let’s go.”

Without another word, the three of us left the Landry corporation and went straight to the packhouse. Judy was getting ready at the Villa, so I knew the packhouse would be clear of her. Irene was very clear when she told me that I wasn’t to see Judy on her wedding day; last night and into this morning apparently didn’t

count.

But she indeed forbade me from seeing Judy in her wedding dress. I had no idea how my mate was doing, but I trusted my family and friends to make sure she was okay today. I just hoped she wasn’t in too much pain after drinking so much last night.

My stomach was in a knot thinking about it.

“Dad… do I have to wear this stupid tux?” Matt asked as he walked towards me, tugging at his dark tie.

I come down, my handsome boy.

“Yes,” I told him, putting my hand on his shoulder. “You’re the ring bearer. It’s custom.”

He let out a groan.

“Ryder doesn’t have to wear a tux,” he said, folding his arms across his chest and scowling at me.

I couldn’t help but laugh at that logic.

“Ryder is an infant,” I reminded him. “You are not. You are wearing the tux, Matthew.”

He groaned but didn’t argue further.

I went upstairs and into the King’s suite, where my suit lay on the bed, ready for me to put it on. I grabbed it and went straight into the bathroom, where I showered and prepped myself for the wedding.

I was excited; I was finally marrying the love of my life. I was never going to let this woman go, and now she was going to be bound to me in more ways than one. I planned to mark her after our wedding during our

first night together as a married couple.

After I finished showering, I put on the suit and looked at myself in the mirror. I had to admit, I looked pretty good. I just hoped Judy thought so, too.

There was a soft knock on the door, and I opened it only to find my mother standing on the other side.

“Mom? You came,” I said, hugging her.

She stood on her toes to hug me back, and then she kissed my cheek adoringly.

“Did you really think I’d miss my son’s wedding?” She asked with a light laugh. “Not a chance.”

“How are you? I haven’t seen you in a while,” I told her, pulling her into my room so we could talk.

Since she was betrayed by Daisy and lost the Moon Gem, she’s been hiding. I think her heart was broken because of both Daisy’s betrayal and the betrayal of my father. I hated the thought of my mother being heartbroken, and I wanted to fix it.

“I’ve been okay… I did a lot of reflecting over these last few weeks, and I wanted to tell you that I’m sorry,” she finally said, tears filling her eyes. “I should have trusted you and given you the benefit of the doubt. But I’m so happy for you, and I’m happy for Judy. I can’t wait to welcome her into our family.”

“Wow, Mom. That’s huge for you to admit,” I told her, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her into me. “Thank you. My mate will be happy to hear that.”

She patted my back as she hugged me back, and then she stepped back so she could take a look at me.

“Oh, sweetie, you look handsome, but you really need to do something with your hair,” she said, narrowing her eyes at me.

I frowned and ran my fingers through my hair, confused by what she meant.

“I don’t understand,” I said, my brows furrowed. “What’s wrong with it?”

She smiled and shook her head.

“How are you this powerful Lycan Chairman, and you still need your mother’s help with something this simple?” She asked. “Come on… let me fix your hair.”

She pulled me into the room and sat me on the bed as she fussed with my hair. It was nice spending this time with her; it was strange, though, because we’ve never really spent this much time together before. Our relationship was never like this, but I can see there was a change in my mother, and she was trying to make up for some old times’ sake.

“So, how’s my grandbaby?” She asked. “And where exactly is he?”

I smiled at the thought of Ryder… my heir.

“He’s with his other grandparents while Judy gets dressed,” I told her. “If you want, you can head to the villa to see them right now.”

“That’s alright, I can see him after. You know, I’ve gotten to know Michelle Montague quite a bit over the last few weeks, and I have to say, I really enjoy our talks. We’ve bonded over our love for our grandson. We
