Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 331

Madeline’s eyes were rimmed with red as she sniffled and got to her feet, facing the doctor. “Thank you, Doctor.”

The doctor gave her a few instructions and was about to leave when Madeline called out, “Doctor, could you wait a moment?”

He stopped. “Is there something else, Ms. Monroe?”

Madeline glanced toward the hallway and lowered her voice. “I need a favor from you...”

After she finished, the doctor looked outside, seemed to understand something, and nodded. “Alright, I get it.”

“Thank you.”

“It’s only right. Keeping patients safe is part of my job.”

Out in the hallway, Bill and Courtney lingered, clearly unwilling to go. When they heard someone say the child had woken up, their faces fell.

As soon as the doctor came out, Lucy hurried over, and Bill and Courtney leaned in, eager to hear every word.

“Doctor, how is the child? If he’s awake, does that mean he’s safe now?”

The doctor shook his head, regret all over his face. “Not really. He woke up for a moment, but now he’s back in a coma. It’s still very serious. He’s in danger and could get worse at any time.”

Lucy frowned, worry etched deep in her features. “But you said if he woke up, he’d be alright. Why is he still in danger?”

“The injuries were very severe. It’s honestly a miracle he made it this far. I can’t say what’s going to happen,” the doctor replied with a heavy sigh.

“I see...” Lucy’s face fell. She looked even more anxious than before.

Hearing all this, Bill and Courtney let out a quiet breath, secretly relieved.

Just a second ago, they thought the kid was really going to pull through.
