Twin Cupids at Work Daddy Come Home novel Chapter 696

Christian’s people stood firm, blocking the doorway, waiting for his orders and no one else’s.

“Sir, please forgive us.”

Julian barely glanced at them. He didn’t bother arguing, just rolled his shoulders like he was getting ready for a workout. If they wouldn’t move, he’d make them.

As the Grayson family’s heir, Julian had grown up with the kind of strict training most people couldn’t even imagine. He practiced every day, never slacking off. On a good day, these guys wouldn’t stand a chance. Today, with his patience worn thin, they never did.

One by one, they went down. Christian watched, stunned, feeling a chill crawl up his spine as Julian’s anger seemed to fill the room.

That was when Miles came running in from the hallway, eyes wide in shock at the chaos in the hospital room.

“Boss… Boss? Is that really you?”

Julian shot him a look, sharp and cold. Miles looked like he might collapse right there, his legs shaking so hard he had to grab the doorframe to steady himself.

Clutched tightly in Miles’s hands was an unopened letter.

He picked his way carefully across the floor, stepping over groaning bodies, and stopped right in front of Julian. His voice trembled. “Boss… Ms. Monroe left this at the house. The maid found it while she was cleaning her room.”

Hearing Madeline's name, Julian’s hard stare faltered for just a moment. Something in his eyes softened. He reached out, but stopped to wipe his bloody palm on his pants, wanting to be clean before he touched anything of hers.

Julian stood there, shoulders tense, reading every word. The handwriting wasn’t hers, but the voice—the way every line was phrased—was so utterly and completely Madeline.

She told him not to fight with Christian. That, deep down, Christian only meant well for him, no matter how overbearing he acted.

She teased him about his lousy acting. Said she’d figured out his plan ages ago, but she couldn’t let him go through with it.

She wrote that whatever debts there were between them, he’d already paid back in full.

She said she’d gone to get her eyes treated.

She promised she would come back.
