Neil is not a dumb guy, theoretically, he should be pretty smart, so why does he become so silly when it comes to Bonnie?
As far as I can see, there's only one explanation that makes sense to me, he's playing dumb on purpose.
He told me he needed time to deal with Bonnie, but he kept turning a blind eye. I'm glad I didn't buy his story.
"I know some things, but there are some things you don't know." Neil’s face was full of sorrow, like a knot that couldn't be untied, constantly bothering him.
"Well, spill the beans!" I suddenly raised my voice, "Tell me, and we might be able to clear up all the misunderstandings, right?"
Neil's mouth opened and closed, as if he wanted to say something but stopped. In the end, he shut up.
I snorted, "Ha, Neil, is this what you meant by taking care of Bonnie? You guys met for the first time in the town hall, it was her who reached out to you first, and you’ve never told me about any of these. Are you afraid of her getting hurt, so you took the responsibility yourself?"
"Even if I misunderstood you, thinking you were the one pursuing her, forcing her to break up, you loved her so much you lost your mind, and you were okay with it," I continued, "then why did you come to find me after we divorced? What are you really thinking? I don’t even recognize you anymore.”
Sometimes I even wonder, since I can be reborn, why couldn't Neil be possessed by someone else's soul?
Maybe he's not Neil, he's just possessed by someone else.
Neil clenched his teeth. I saw his jaw twitch a bit, he was probably upset.
I was upset too, I had to look at Bonnie's disgusting face while eating my roast chicken!
As I dried my hands, ready to leave, I saw Bonnie approaching.
She looked at Neil, then at me, her eyes complicated.
"Irene, what happened today has nothing to do with Mr. Whitmore, I came on my own." Bonnie thought I was blaming Neil.
I didn't respond, just walked away.
"Bonnie Bitch went to the bathroom too, did she go to find you?" Stella asked in a low voice when I returned.
"I don't know, I left as soon as I saw her." I answered casually.
Then Mitch came over, apologizing sheepishly, "I'm sorry, Irene. I was wrong, I shouldn't have posted that on social media!"
I glanced at Mitch, remembering something Stella had said, so I asked, "Mitch, Cooper, what do you guys think of Bonnie?"
They looked at each other, not knowing how to respond.
If Mitch dared to say a word out of line, today's roast chicken would turn into roast Mitch.
In the end, it was Cooper who spoke, "She's just a little girl, blinded by love. She's usually very sweet, very open and passionate towards others."
As soon as he finished, Stella jumped up, ready to hit Cooper, but luckily he was quick enough to dodge.
"Dear, dear!" Mitch was startled and immediately held Stella, "Don't get too excited, think about our baby!"
He turned to warn Cooper, "You're really annoying, what if you upset my wife?!"
Stella pointed at Cooper angrily, “Cooper, remember, you're only safe because of the law!”
Cooper used to be quite afraid of Stella, after all, he had witnessed her violent tendencies. Now, he seemed a bit flustered.
"Yes, my wife is right, Bonnie is very manipulative!" To appease Stella, Mitch started to make stuff up.
Just then, Bonnie came back, her face turning ugly when she heard what he said.
