Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 186

Neil was kissing me passionately, but he stopped when he heard what I said.

He looked up at me, his lips flushed red like a sprite in a painting.

Just as our eyes met, there were footsteps outside, along with Bonnie's voice, "Where's Neil?"

"No idea, he just disappeared from here!" someone replied.

Bonnie sounded really worried. Gloria had drugged Neil, probably to help her, but she didn't expect Neil to be able to resist and leave.

She knew my room was down this corridor, she must be really freaking out, huh?

"Search every room!" Bonnie ordered.

Has she gone mad? Because she couldn't chase Neil, she wanted to find evidence of Neil being with another woman.

I never knew she enjoyed torturing herself so much. But if she does this, I'm screwed.

I quickly dialed Stella's number, "Stella, where are you? Get Mitch and help me, pronto!"

I quickly filled her in, and Stella immediately replied, "Okay, I'll be there with Mitch right away. Just make sure Neil doesn't do anything stupid!"

I glanced at Neil; he was standing with his back to me, his wet shirt clinging to his broad back. He must be really confused right now.

"Okay, hurry up." As soon as I hung up, there was a knock at the door.

Bonnie called from outside, "Irene, it's me. Can I come in?"

I turned around and flatly refused her, "Sorry, I need some rest, so please leave."

Bonnie was silent for a moment, then she said, "There's been a thief tonight. One of my pieces of jewelry was stolen, so we need to check each room. Irene, can you open the door?"

What a crappy excuse! Even if Neil wasn't here, I wouldn't believe it.

I ignored Bonnie and went back to sit on the bed, waiting for Stella and Mitch to come to my rescue.

But what Bonnie did next took me by surprise: she actually started trying to open the door.

Once they came in and found Neil here and then spread the word, I'm toast. My parents would be furious, and they would think I'm back together with Neil.

Even hiding Neil in the bathroom was useless because they would find him as soon as they come in.

Just as I was getting all jittery, Neil headed towards the balcony. There was a two-meter wide guardrail and a narrow passage below it.

"You're going to jump? It's at least two or three meters high!" I saw Neil climbing over the guardrail and couldn't help but warn him.

"So you want me to stay?" Neil's voice was a bit hoarse, his eyes still filled with desire.

I immediately shook my head.

With that, Neil jumped, and his figure disappeared into the narrow passage. I watched him disappear; he seemed very skilled, and he probably wasn't hurt.

After Neil left, I went back to my room to sleep. Just then, the door was opened, and Bonnie rushed in, her eyes darting around for Neil.

"What are you doing? Bonnie, is this how you treated me when you invited me to the dinner party?" I sat on the bed, coldly staring at her.
