Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 194

"I need to have a chat with you." Neil put his glasses on the table and solemnly pulled me up.

Neil led me out in a daze as the scorching wind blew against my face. I was ready to head back inside; the heat was just too unbearable.

Neil stopped me, sounding pissed, "Did you spread the rumor about Bonnie and me getting back together just because you didn't want me to bother you?"

What else? I don't want to be a tabloid journalist.

"So, can you promise me that you won’t bother me anymore? Pretend you don't know me when you see me, so I don't have to do this to distract you." I touched my somewhat hot face, still keeping my senses.

"Did you do this to get back at me for what I did last time?" Neil's eyes darkened as he asked coldly.

I admitted frankly, "Yes, if it weren't for the fact that I don't want my parents to know, I would have called the police and ruined your reputation long ago. Neil, you're really shameless. Have you been swinging between two people in the past two years?"

"I didn't!" Neil was so angry that he held his forehead, "You didn't even reply to my messages or answer my calls; did you give me a chance to explain?"

"I don't need your explanation. Right now, I can’t believe how stupid I’ve been to have anything to do with you." I interrupted Neil.

"So, who should you be involved with? Russel?" Neil's tone suddenly cooled down, "Too bad, he's currently on a blind date."

I found it amusing. Did he think that I wanted to leave him for Russel?

"Yes, you're right. It is for Russel. I regret it! Why did I like you back then? Why didn't I meet him first? After seeing him quarrel with his family for me, I hate my second marriage status. If I hadn't married you… if I hadn't lost a child, I could be open with him now. We're a perfect match, and we like each other; what's wrong with that?" I started laughing as I talked.

My heart became incredibly satisfied when I saw Neil's increasingly ugly face.

Since he always thought I had something going on with Russel, I didn't need to explain anymore.

I thought Neil would be furious; everything I just said was meant to provoke him.

"Irene, shut up!" Neil didn't lose his temper, but his face looked terrifying.

"Okay, I'll shut up. As long as you don't bother me in the future, I can stay quiet!" I replied coldly.

Neil took a deep breath, seeming to calm himself down, and we both fell into a silent standoff.

Until a woman appeared who recognized me, "Oh, it's you?"

I glanced at the woman and realized that it was the same short-haired woman who had spoken up for me in the shop a few days ago.

Today she was dressed very brightly and wearing a pair of exaggerated earrings, but she didn't give off a vulgar vibe; instead, she seemed very sexy and lively.

"We meet again." I reined in my emotions and greeted the short-haired woman with a smile.

Neil stood next to me, looking very indifferent, staring at the woman with a blank expression.

"Wow! What a coincidence; are you here for a drink too?" The short-haired woman was very cheerful, and her voice was sweet as she asked, "Is he your boyfriend?"

She pointed to Neil.

I immediately denied it, "We're not close, just friends."

A trace of surprise flashed in the short-haired woman's eyes, "Really? Then you wouldn't mind if I pursue him, right? He looks handsome."
