"Russel, are you okay?" I really didn't know how to describe the two of them.
Russel smiled, lying on the ground with his eyes closed.
Chloe squatted down, trying to wipe the blood off his face, but he suddenly opened his eyes and pushed her hand away.
Chloe stared at him dumbfounded, unable to react for a moment.
"Neil, get up!" I urgently pulled Neil's hand, trying to make him stand up.
Neil stood up but gave me a cold look and left.
His look startled me, and I didn't know what had happened.
Fortunately, Mitch followed him. Maybe I can learn what happened from him later.
"Ms. Reynolds, I'll leave the rest to you. Sorry, I didn't expect this to happen." I said to Chloe.
"I see." Chloe's expression was complicated, but she nodded in understanding.
I knew I couldn't stay here any longer. Now, everyone was buzzing with talk, either about Malinda or speculating about what Neil and Bonnie had done in the room.
People were also looking at me from time to time. Their curious gaze made me very uncomfortable.
After leaving the Orchid Hotel, I was stopped by Kitty.
She didn't look well, and there was a slap mark on her face. It looked like she had been hit. Her eyes were red, but she didn't cry, obviously holding back.
"What happened?" I asked in surprise.
"Nothing. I got slapped by my dad." Kitty touched her face, forcing out a smile, "Irene, Neil seems to have deep feelings for you. Was it a bit presumptuous of me to compete with you?"
My mind was a mess at this point. Seeing Kitty's downcast expression, I couldn't help but comfort her, "No. You are special to Neil. His feelings for me are just resentment. The reason I agreed to live with him again was to make him tired of me and see his true heart."
This reason was convincing. Kitty thought for a while and then nodded, "Okay, I believe you."
I felt a bit guilty. I made up this reason on the spot, but it did not contradict my real intention.
"Why did your dad hit you?" I asked again.
"Neil and Bonnie have been entangled until now. Everyone has seen it," Kitty pouted, "My dad thinks I shouldn't give up my dignity to pursue Neil, so he slapped me. What right does he have to control me? He never took good care of me. He's just an irresponsible father."
I told her calmly, "Kitty, your father's worries are not unreasonable. Look at Neil's past scandals and his relationship with Bonnie now. These are things you need to consider. Even if he is with you, you may not be able to adapt to that kind of life."
Kitty thought for a moment seriously, then showed a grateful smile as she said, "I understand, but I've always been a stubborn person. When that day comes, I won't blame anyone but myself."
"Alright. Good luck." I smiled and said goodbye to Kitty.
I wasn't sure if Neil had returned to Sterling Estates, so I needed to go back and check. I needed to know what he meant by what he said today.
When I got back to Sterling Estates, Hannah told me that Neil hadn't come back.
It was almost eleven o'clock at night.
I wasn't worried that Neil would be in danger. What I was worried about was that some things might affect the deal between him and me.
"Ms. Finch, are you okay?" Hannah suddenly asked me.
