Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 346

After a moment of silence on the other end, an uncomfortable voice said, "Mr. Whitmore was calling your name. I don't think Bonnie showing up would do any good."

That statement hit me like a ton of bricks. My mood, which had been gloomy as hell, seemed to lift a bit.

Unbelievable. I was so easily pacified. His assistant said one sentence, and my mood lightened.

"You're overthinking. I have nothing to do with him now. Bonnie is his girlfriend; you should go find her and not bother me." Although I felt better, I still spoke sharply.

The assistant continued pleading awkwardly, "Ms. Finch, please come over. If not, Mr. Whitmore is going to spend the night at the bar, and it’s going to be a mess."

"Nope." I replied.

Suddenly, there was a scream on the other end, "Mr. Whitmore!"

My heart jumped, and then there was a loud crashing noise, even drowning out the background music.

The assistant's voice rang out anxiously, "Ms. Finch, please come over quickly. Mr. Whitmore somehow got into a fight. He's hurt!"

"This old trick again? He used to fool me with it. Nobody can beat him in a fight." I was a bit worried, but remembering that Neil had used that trick before, I calmed down immediately.

The assistant was about to cry, "No, it's not like that this time; please come and see. He mistook someone else's girlfriend for you!"

That really threw me for a loop.

Was Neil drunk, or was he out of his mind?

After hesitating a bit, I drove to the bar to find Neil, who was mistaking another woman for his girlfriend. When I arrived, Neil was bleeding from his forehead, and his assistant looked helpless. There was also a couple standing by them, and the guy looked pissed as hell.

"Ms. Finch, thank God you're here. Please take Mr. Whitmore to the hospital!" The assistant said urgently.

"He's been beaten up so badly; doesn't he know to call an ambulance?" I frowned.

"Mr. Whitmore won't let me!" The assistant seemed to be at his wit's end, only managing to say that simple sentence.

I knew Neil was as stubborn as a mule, but that time, after hearing the whole story, I was speechless. Not only did he mistake someone for me, but he also got beaten up by that person's boyfriend, and he casually asked the guy to finish him off, as if he were invincible.

The guy who hit Neil turned to me and said, "You must pay for your boyfriend's actions. Emotional distress!"

"He's not my boyfriend." I replied unhappily.

"Then why are you here?" The guy retorted, "Aren't you Irene? He's been yelling 'Irene' all night. Isn't that you?"

I was taken aback. Yes, that was me, but how could I admit it?

The woman next to the guy then spoke up, her voice sweet as honey, "Oh, come on, this handsome guy just got a bit tipsy and mistook me for Irene. Let's not be so hard on him. Let's just be friends."

Her seductive eyes were full of interest in Neil, as if she were hoping Neil would mistake her for me.

Just as I was about to say something, Neil suddenly reached out and grabbed my hand. His eyes were blurred, and there was blood on his face, which was quite startling. He looked at me and said, "I said she was my wife. I wasn't wrong, was I?"
