Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 36

After taking a shower, I started my skincare routine, and that's when Neil decided to walked in.

I found it strange. Why did he start visiting my room more frequently after my reincarnation?

"Why don't you want me to attend Barbara's engagement party?" Neil asked, standing beside my vanity table, his tone relatively mild. He casually leaned against the table, his long legs in black trousers towering over the tabletop.

"I didn't say I didn't want you to. You're being oversensitive," I replied, feeling helpless.

"Is it because Russel is also going?" Neil lowered his head, his eyebrows slightly furrowed. This expression usually indicated that he was in a bad mood.

I felt a headache coming on. What was he talking about? What did Russel going have to do with me?

"No. What are you trying to say? Just spit it out. We've never needed to beat around the bush." I gently circled my fingers on the face mask, then took out a massager and started massaging.

"I've told you before, we can each have our own lovers, but you can't target the people around me. Did you forget so quickly?" Neil's aura suddenly turned cold, and his voice followed suit.

I was speechless and confused, "Who said Russel is my target?"

Neil silently looked at me. I took a guess, "Was it Mitch?"

What happened last time at Wellness Oasis, that big mouth Mitch must have told Neil. Plus, the fact that I asked Russel to buy personal items for me in the past, it was bound to make Neil suspicious.

He was a cunning man. Any abnormality could trigger his alertness. Despite his young age, he was as good as, if not better than, the seasoned foxes in the business world when it came to schemes.

Aside from knowing each other's names and appearances, Russel and I really didn't have any connection.

"Explain," Neil stood upright, hands casually in his pockets, looking down at me.

"Explain what? I'm not close with him," I didn't want to explain.

"If you're not close, why does he suddenly have your contact?" Neil was very dissatisfied with my perfunctory attitude, and a hint of anger appeared on his handsome face, "Irene, don't push my buttons!"

Taken aback by his anger, I shot him a glare, "Neil, are you here to pick a fight with me? I'm telling you, Russel contacted me first. Why don't you ask him why he has my number?"

The photo of me and Oscar was sent to me by Russel. Otherwise, I wouldn't have his contact at all. I had asked him for his contact before, but he didn't give it to me.

Neil didn't say much, he picked up his phone and was about to call Russel.

But I thought that was inappropriate. Russel was also unpredictable. What if he sent the photo of me and Oscar to Neil under questioning?

How should I explain Oscar's identity to Neil? He probably already knew who Bonnie's boyfriend was. All he had to do was look at the photo and he would find out that I knew Bonnie's boyfriend.

I didn't want to lose my advantage so soon. I wanted to tell him about it when his relationship with Bonnie had deepened.

"Neil!" I called out, then took off my mask, stood up and tried to snatch his phone away, "How could you do this? If I had something indecent with Russel, how could I still have a relationship with you?!"

Neil seemed speechless at my response. He raised his hand and held the phone high where I couldn't reach. He replied coldly, "Who says a woman can't have a relationship with two men? What happened when I was on a business trip, how would I know?"
