Chapter 274
Remington knew damn well that Hogan wouldn’t spill the beans about Lizetta’s whereabouts.
His grip on Hogan’s collai began to loosen.
“You’re just buying time for her, looks like she’s definitely at the airport.”
Hogan kept his cool, simply replying, “No comment.”
But Remington wasn’t born yesterday, he’d already pieced it together.
If Lizetta wasn’t here, but hiding out somewhere else in Zion City, there’d be no need for Hogan to stage a smoke screen with some dame at the airport.
The only logical explanation was that she was here.
She was indeed planning to leave today, just on a different flight one that had likely already taken off or was about to.
That was why Hogan needed to stall for time.
Remington let go of Hogan and headed out with his crew towards Gate 3.
Hogan frowned as he watched the man hurry off, then glanced at his watch and let out a sigh.
Lizetta was already on a plane to Havenport. Thinking back on Remington’s icy demeanor, she bit her lip, a bundle of nerves.
When she overheard Remington and Fiona at the Dashiell family mansion say that he’d never let her marry another man, it gave her the jitters.
Afraid of being blocked today, she secretly bought another ticket to Havenport.
She planned to lay low in Havenport for a while.
Lizetta knew Remington’s prideful nature; after seeing her determination and giving him the cold shoulder
for a month,

Even if he was possessive, he was bound off.
By then, coming back to get a divorce should be a cakewalk.
Lizetta had her bases covered, but she didn’t expect Remington to actually chase her down to the airport.
Now, she kept checking her watch, hoping time would fly and the plane would take off ASAP.
If Remington couldn’t find her in the waiting room, he’d turn Zion City upside down. By the time he drew a blank there, she’d be well hidden in Havenport.
Lizetta’s wishful thinking worked; the cabin door was securely closed, and they were ready for takeoff.
She finally relaxed, her tense back losing its strength as she slumped into her seat, slowly removing her hat and scarf.
She was sweating bullets, took a deep breath, and gently rubbed her belly, whispering to herself,
“Joy, I’m sorry, I’m just so tired, I can’t keep this up. I can’t let you meet your dad, but I promise, I’ll love and cherish you twice as much.”

A wave of nausea hit her again, maybe the baby was blaming her.
Lizetta’s nose tumed sour, her almond eyes dampened, and her brows and eyelashes tinged with sadness and heavy quilt.
“What’s on your mind?”
Suddenly, a voice inquired from above.
The voice was raspy and steady but carried an immense weight.
