Shawn stared at himself through the mirror, running his index finger on his face, he was lost for words to say since he never expected to get married after coming down here, to this town. Though he had used the identity of the actual Shawn Cooper, he did not think it would lead him down to the path of marriage.
That was something that he did not see coming and now that he was finally married to Hannah, a beautiful woman who could make heads turn when she walked past.-
When he took on that identity, he never expected that his little wife, Hannah Lockwood would be having such a hard time, and life would be very unfair to her.
Shawn ran his hand through his messy hair. "She was a replacement bride" he shook his head, and a lot of emotions ran through his eyes.
"It must have been so hard for her" Shawn was not happy that despite being a replacement bride, her wedding gown had to be rented.
Other girls would have had their wedding gown bought from the best store in the town but Hannah could only hire. Lowering the mirror down, he walked away, She struggled with so much and he saw that. He hated that she was struggling with so much on her own.
"Hannah, how can you deal with so much on your own?" He could only imagine what it is like to be dealing with a lot on your own.
When the memories of their time together during breakfast flashed through his mind, it pushed a smile on his face, She was a good cook, he needed to admit that.
Though he never intended to admit that to her at all. She would be better off if he didn't admit anything to her.
As he saw her struggle with so much on her own, Shawn couldn't help but feel his heart squeeze over the fact that she was just burdened with so much struggles. In his heart was a twinge of sympathy for that woman whom he had married.
Though Shawn knows nothing about Hannah's true identity and doesn't want to get inquisitive since he is fake as well.
Why are you a substitute? He wondered. While he chooses not to get inquisitive about her, he is also trying to hide the fact that he is an Alpha. As an Alpha, he already knows that he can not stay in a small town for long, he couldn't be living this sort of life for far too long. Someday, it will all come to an end and all of this will have to end.
Shawn just doesn't want to imagine the look on her face the day that she realizes that she is living with someone who is as fake as she was as well. There were bound to be stories but he was not about to reveal his identity, and neither was he going to ask about her own.
When she asked him that question during breakfast, he just couldn't bring himself to tell her anything about himself, That was the best thing and Shawn was glad that part of him was not revealed.
"All of this will soon come to an end" His eyes filled with emotions. "I wonder how long it will last? A day, two or another decade or more" He smiled but the smile doesn't reach his eyes.
