The salesgirl remained there patiently, though she didn’t really want to serve anyone. But with the recent installation of cameras by the headquarters, she didn’t want her impatience to be caught on tape.
Grace took a look around and set her sights on a gold bracelet.
She walked over, leaning on the glass counter to take a closer look. The design and material were both top-notch. It weighed over thirty grams, but it would look good on Brittany.
"This one." Grace said.
The salesgirl moved to the inside of the counter, "Are you sure?"
With today's gold price soaring to over forty dollars per gram, this bracelet could cost over a thousand dollars. Could this old lady afford it?
The old lady caught the implied doubt in her words, a flicker of displeasure flashing in her eyes.
"I'm sure." Grace said.
Brittany, helping Grace, took a look at the bracelet. It was indeed very pretty, no wonder Grace liked it.
"Can you take it out for us, please?" Brittany said.
Brittany had some spare cash on hand. She could afford the bracelet, and gold was always suitable for people of any age.
The salesgirl leisurely unlocked the case, took out the bracelet, and slid it towards Grace. Her tone unkind, "If you can't afford it, don't touch it. You can just look. If you really can't afford it, there's a stall next door that sells cheap bracelets that look just like gold."
Brittany was deeply offended by her words and couldn't help but retort, "How can you talk like that? We're customers. Is this how you treat customers?"
Since when did this salesgirl have such a sense of superiority?
The salesgirl didn't even care about Brittany, "Want to browse? Pay cash, or use a card, then you can touch the merchandise."
What a cheapskate, what was there to be so smug about?
Brittany was so angry her face turned red. But Grace slowly said, "When I walked in, I noticed your sign. This shop belongs to the Salter family, right?"
"Yes, we're the most famous gold brand under the Salter family." The salesgirl puffed out her chest proudly, "The head of Grandeur Capital is our big boss!"
She brought up Grandeur Capital, trying to show off her sense of superiority.
Grace merely nodded, "What's the name of the person in charge of this shop?"
