The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 217

Brittany just couldn't wrap her head around Robert. He cheated willingly and was scared shitless of people finding out. Then he had the nerve to give her the silent treatment for over two decades because of his suspicions.

Robert stunned: “I loved your mother too much, she was so noble, so elegant. Even after marrying me, she never settled into domestic life. I saw so many men better than me showed interests in her.”

The most beautiful and accomplished person Robert had ever met was Julie.

She was too perfect, so perfect that everyone had to shield their eyes from her brilliance. And despite being her husband, he was always in her shadow.

How could he accept that?

Brittany scoffed, “You didn’t love her. You just wanted to conquer her.”

She knew Robert well, or rather, she understood how some men think. They want to conquer a radiant woman, hoping she would become a housewife, cook, and raise kids for them.

And outside, they would be attracted to other accomplished women. If they cheated, they would twist the truth, blaming their wives for not dressing up, using it as an excuse for their actions.

Robert was just like that. He was actually insecure deep down. Julie's brilliance was like a mirror that suffocated him, unless that mirror was broken.

Robert said nothing. He seemed to have been hit by her words.

“Don’t you want to know what Gianna told me? She said my mother didn’t die of depression, she was poisoned.” A cold light flickered in Brittany's eyes, “You knew about this, didn’t you?”

Robert shivered, after a moment, he slumped to the ground and looked up at Brittany, “Yes.”

“Julie’s death was indeed no accident.”

Robert had never regretted anything over the years, after all he was an accomplice. But lately, he had been thinking about Julie.

She was noble, beautiful, and didn’t care about him, even when she knew she was being poisoned, she never pleaded for her life.

Actually, he didn’t want much. If only Julie could be a little gentler, say something sweet like a normal wife, he could give up Gianna and save her life, but Julie didn’t.
