Isaac knew she needed time to adjust, so he did his best to dodge those touchy subjects. He put off some work and spent plenty of time at her side.
Brittany was getting better day by day until one morning.
Isaac woke up and reached out to snuggle Brittany but felt only the cold sheets.
He got up and pushed open the bedroom door.
"Good morning, Isaac."
Brittany came out of the kitchen with two sandwiches, her eyes twinkling with laughter.
Isaac knew she was back on her feet.
He walked over and wrapped his arms around her waist, "Why didn't you wake me?"
"I've been resting at home for a while, and now I thought I'd make you breakfast." Brittany smiled faintly, "After breakfast, I plan to go back to the studio to prepare the new line for the next quarter."
Isaac was relieved at her recovery. He let go of her, his eyes smiling, "Sounds good."
After breakfast, they headed out together.
Isaac dropped Brittany off at the studio entrance, watched her walk in, and then left.
The studio crew were thrilled to see Brittany back.
Most of them had attended Donna Dustin's funeral and remembered how devastated Brittany was then. They had even feared she might faint.
But thankfully, that was all in the past now.
Kari was the happiest of all. She hugged Brittany tight, her eyes teary, "You're finally back."
Brittany hugged Kari in return. Kari had been taking care of the studio during her absence.
"Kari, you've worked hard."
Kari wiped her tears, "It wasn't hard, Brittany. Welcome back."
Once Brittany was back in the studio, everyone busily prepared for the new quarter's product line.
...
Grandeur Capital.
Isaac pushed open his office door to find someone already waiting for him.
"Isaac."
