The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 249

Warren looked stern as he stopped Brittany Dustin in her tracks. “Are you really choosing to go up against us?”

“Ms. Dustin, I absolutely can't let this escalate to court!”

Brittany heard the warning in his voice. She clutched her fingers tightly and turned to look at Warren. “And I can't let the truth about my grandmother's death stay hidden.”

“You!”

“Either you accept my terms or I will see you in court.”

Brittany didn't think there was any point in continuing the conversation. As she walked away, Warren's annoyed voice followed her. “Ms. Dustin, I don't want things to get messy. Donna Dustin was a respected woman. I can deal with those who are irresponsible, but I won't apologize.”

“If you won't take my advice, I'll have no choice but to fight back.”

Warren sized up Brittany. She was, indeed, Donna Dustin’s granddaughter. Even in poverty, she held on to her pride.

If she wasn't opposing him, he wouldn't want to be on her bad side.

Brittany hesitated. Warren wouldn't be easy to deal with, but she couldn't let Donna suffer in vain!

“See you in court.”

This meant she wasn’t willing to compromise.

After Brittany left, Warren dialed a number. “Dig into Brittany’s background; the more detailed, the better.”

If she wasn’t willing to settle, then he would have to fight back.

Brittany left and hailed a cab home.

As she opened the door, the room was empty. Grace Salter had left a few days earlier, and Isaac Salter hadn’t returned yet. Brittany was alone.

She changed into her pajamas, didn't feel hungry, and curled up on the couch. The TV was on, airing a popular series.

She wasn't in the mood to watch. Wrapped in a light blanket, she dozed off.

Isaac finished work and came home. The sight that greeted him warmed his heart. The TV was still on, and Brittany was fast asleep on the sofa.

It felt like home.

Isaac walked over and gently lifted Brittany. She was a light sleeper and woke up, wrapping her arms around his neck. “You're back.”
