The hospital itself was to blame, but instead of giving a clear explanation to the family, they were trying to throw money at the problem.
If Brittany couldn't care less about billions of dollars, she certainly wouldn't give a damn about the paltry compensation Warren was offering!
"Got it; I'll keep an eye on him."
"Mr. Salter, Mr. Derek wants to see you."
During this time, Derek had been in the hospital. After being discharged, he tried to contact Isaac several times but was turned down, so he had to ask Nathan to pass the message.
"Mr. Derek wants to apologize to you for not being able to protect Ms. Dustin."
"Got it. If he shows up again tomorrow, let him in."
Isaac was a bit pissed at Derek. If Derek had been more careful, Brittany wouldn't have gotten hurt.
But he also knew that Derek had done his best to make amends. The fact that they found Brittany so quickly was due to Derek providing leads at his own expense.
Nathan knew Isaac well. If he agreed to the meeting, it was a sign that he had forgiven him.
"Alright."
Derek breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that Isaac was willing to meet him.
As soon as William Dillion found out that Derek had been discharged, he immediately sent an invite, and they went to their usual bar.
They crossed the bustling hall and went up to the second floor, to their private booth.
William took off his suit jacket, his eyes full of gloom. Derek was curious: "You look kind of down. What's up?"
"Nothing much, just my family pushing me into blind dates."
"What?" Derek was shocked: "You're still into Brittany?"
Brittany was married, and he still had feelings for her?
William gave Derek a displeased glance and said, "And you're one to talk. You've been into Loraine Field for years and haven't done anything about it."
That's a bummer!
Derek leaned back on the couch, picked up a bottle of wine, poured a glass, swirled the wine in the glass, and said, "That's different. Loraine and I are friends."
"Friends? She didn't even visit you in the hospital. What a great friend."
Ever since he found out what Loraine did, William lost all his good feelings toward her.
Derek knew that Loraine was in the wrong. Even if he wanted to defend her, he couldn't find any excuses, so he stayed silent.
After a few drinks, William lost his mood to stay and made an excuse to leave.
His family had been pressuring him recently. Sydney Ramsey somehow caught wind of the news, which made the Dillion family very happy. The two families were even planning a wedding.
He really didn't want to marry Sydney. He didn't like her.
"William, this stuff will get you drunk fast."
Before he could finish his sentence, William had disappeared.
