"Show some respect to my grandma."
The tension spiked as Isaac's icy gaze swept across the room, locking with his father's.
Manuel scoffed and retorted, "Fine. You guys are family, and I'm an outsider, so I guess I can't speak my mind, right?"
"Did we cut you off?" Grace was fuming, grabbing a vase and hurling it at Manuel. "Manuel, you were the one who left the Salter family. What right do you have to demand my grandson keep making concessions for you?"
Manuel took a hit, and a cut formed on his forehead, causing blood to trickle down his cheek.
"You've hit me and berated me." Manuel said coolly, "Are you satisfied now?"
Grace was so angry that she was almost speechless. She pointed at Manuel as her chest heaved with rage.
"You didn't sleep well last night. Go rest." Unable to bear seeing Grace upset any further, Isaac helped her back to her bedroom.
The servants, hearing the commotion, came upstairs to find the broken vase scattered on the floor.
The butler, not wanting any serious trouble on his watch, quickly called for a doctor to tend to Manuel's wound.
When Isaac returned to the study, Manuel's wound had been taken care of.
"Why bother my grandma? If you have issues, take them up with me."
The butler prepared some coffee, and Isaac poured himself a cup. Manuel hadn't visited the Salter family much over the years.
But in recent months, he'd been around a lot.
Seemed like the folks outside were getting impatient.
Manuel, stone-faced, retorted, "This is the Salter family. I'm your father. You have no right to judge me!"
"Since your grandma's already said that, I'll cut to the chase. Marcel is getting engaged. As his elder brother, you must attend. After the engagement, Marcel will join Grandeur Capital as vice president."
"No way."
Isaac shook his head, "I've said it before. As long as I'm around, Marcel can forget about joining the Salter family!"
Manuel suddenly stood up, "Isaac, don't forget. I own 15% of Grandeur Capital's shares. If you refuse Marcel, I'll transfer all of them to him!"
"Then go find yourself a lawyer."
