"Have you seen Mr. Salter?"
"Yep, I gave him the cake." Brittany sighed, "I always feel like Mr. Salter seems kinda familiar."
"Well, it'd be strange if he didn't. He's your hubby," Hannah quipped.
The background noise was too loud. Brittany couldn't catch what she said, "What was that?"
"I said it's getting late, and we should head home."
The engagement party was pretty much over, and there wasn't any point in sticking around. Brittany packed up two pieces of cake and left with Hannah.
As they left the villa, they happened to see Shona Bennett chatting with someone.
Seeing Brittany, Shona said her goodbyes and approached her.
"Ms. Dustin, you free tomorrow?" Shona wanted to chat.
"Got a morning meeting."
"How about we meet in the studio in the afternoon?"
Shona suggested, her eyes landing on Brittany's brooch. If she remembered correctly, this brooch was at an auction in H City.
The buyer at the time was Isaac.
"Ms. Dustin, your brooch is really nice," Shona smoothly switched the topic.
"It's a little something my husband brought back from a business trip." Brittany delicately removed the brooch, placing it in a small box she carried around, "It's not precious, but I love it."
Not precious?
Shona remembered that brooch costing Isaac millions. But to Brittany, it was just a trinket?
"I think it's an auction piece."
"I've seen a similar one, but this was hunted down by my husband."
Brittany used to dabble in the jewelry industry. She had seen a lot of gems, real and fake. But what mattered to her was that this brooch was a gift from Isaac.
Shona suspected that Brittany didn't know Isaac's real identity, a twinge of sympathy flashing in her eyes.
How would Brittany react if she knew that the man she's been in love with for over three months has been lying to her about who he really is? Shona was suddenly excited for that day.
After some more small talk, Shona’s driver reminded her it was time to leave.
Brittany watched her go. Then Hannah took a call. When she hung up, her face was strange.
